"I don't understand the positive reviews..."
... or maybe I do... I traveled alone and often times that can lead to people treating solo travelers like garbage... but onto my review.. I'm giving this hotel 2 stars due to the fact that I got a good price on the rate and an "upgrade" I booked a room in the annex building and the staff generously in their mind decided to upgrade me to the main building... now i didn't say anything but it wasn't for money reasons that I decided to book a room in the annex building I just looked at the photos online and preferred it... besides I like my space anyway... so... I checked in... everything seemed ok (I'm not really into nit picking) ... i did notice that the windows in my room were open when I got there... i didn't think anything of it but I spent a little time in the room closed the windows and left to go for a walk... Well, when I got back I realized why the windows were open! the room REAKED and i mean REAKED of MOLD. It smelled so disgusting I mean it probably wasn't even healthy to breathe that "air" in... it was foul... and it was specifically coming from the shower area and the carpets... I get that it's clearly an old room that's a bit dated but I don't care about that... a rooms a room but it just smelled horrible. on top of which I wouldn't have taken the time to leave a negative review I would have just brushed it off and gone on with my life but I thought the staff members were pretentious and uptight... and it could be because I travel alone and I realize Italy isn't so big on the whole "solo travel" thing but I wasn't treated very nicely... just like a commoner who didn't fit in... which is weird because it's not a 5 star hotel... usually the pretentious snobbery is saved for the 5 star hotels but this hotel was different.. literally every time but one time I was bothered by a staff member when I proceeded to go to my room "eXCUSE ME CAN I HELP YOU" "where are you going" "HELLO CAN I HELP YOU" ok yea it's a safety precaution, I get that but I checked into your hotel... I paid for a room... why are you bothering me EVERY TIME I JUST WANT TO GO TO MY ROOM'''' fine, I get it you didn't recognize me but thats so insulting.... that every time with the exception of one time you're going to act like i'm an intruder when I just want to go to my room... so yea I don't recommend this hotel... if you want pretentious snobbery go to a nice 5 star hotel... at least a 5 star hotel will smell nice and the staff may actually remember your face.
"Wonderful base for a sightseeing weekend"
Have just returned from this wonderful hotel. The staff are top notch, friendly, approachable and nothing is too much for them. Their helpfulness really does impress. The standard room is small but perfect for what we needed for a girly sightseeing weekend in Rome. The beds are so comfy and the shower warm. The breakfast sets you up for the day ahead and who doesn't love a continental breakfast (even superfoods available). Thank you to all the staff we encountered for making our stay enjoyable.
"Great Location, Clean Room, Friendly Staff"
Just returned from a week in Rome staying at the Hotel Condotti. the location couldnt be better, one block from the Spanish Steps. the room was quiet and spotless clean. The hotel staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. we had a great stay in Rome - many thanks
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough. When we arrived we were given a room in the main building of the hotel. This room was very clean and functional but was a little on the small side. Next morning I asked if there was a bigger room available and after checking I was able to go and inspect what was on offer. It was room number 2 in a street just around the corner and I couldn't agree quick enough. It was a very large room with walk in wardrobe and they gave it to me for the same price as the original room. The guys on the front desk were just fantastic as were the kitchen staff. The added benefit of this hotel is the location - a very short walk to the Spanish steps as well as having cafes and restaurants and shops on your doorstep.
