"Excellent place to stay"
Stayed at the Copthorne several times and have found to be very good value. All staff have been professional and courteous Rooms have been very comfortable and functional. Never had a problem sleeping. Restaurant and bar area spacious Food excellent. Note... bar meals are tasty BUT they are served on a plate that's too small. I think it's trying to make you feel you're getting good value . You are ! But it would be nice eating off a bigger plate. For me a good reason to stay here is access to the gym and pool. Both are of a good size. It's a great way to unwind after a crazy day
"Big thank you"
Just wanted to let everyone know how lovely the staff are at this hotel.. we were travelling back to Wales after a business conference in London and the car overheated on the motorway . We came off and asked the reception staff if there was any way we could get a jug of water. They had no hesitation to help and got us a bucket of water to help us on our way.. many places wouldn't have or would have been begrudging doing so .. so a great big thank you for enabling us to continue our journey.. you do your company proud .. definitely 5 star customer service ..hotel looks amazing too .
"Comfortable Stop Over"
We stayed here as part of a Legoland deal. It's a great location and very close to Legoland. The hotel itself is very comfortable and the room was lovely and well equipped. We used the pool in the morning which was nice but quite small and probably needed a bit of a refresh. We also had breakfast in the morning which was lovely but they were playing Christmas Songs which was abit too early at the start of November.
"In need of some refreshing, but overall, is value for the cost"
Having stayed in many hotels, one gets to see the huge array and variety in terms of value. Given the price point, this hotel is relatively good value, and although it does need some refreshing in certain areas, overall its a good, clean hotel. The staff are generally very friendly, and the car parking has got to be the best for any Hotel car park - at £6 per night! We didn't opt for the breakfast option, as Hotels tend to be too greedy in this respect, and for a short hop down the road, in town, you can get wonderful food, at a very reasonable cost.
"Enjoyable stay made more pleasing by the pleasantness of the staff."
Having read other reports on tripadvisor regarding this hotel I can only comment on my own personal stay. For myself the hotel is ideally located for a long weekend break away from home. My stay was solely for leisure. The hotel is located only a few minutes drive from Windsor for a nice stroll or an even shorter trip to Slough train station where and express train will whisk you to London Paddington in 18 minutes without all the hassle of London's congestion charge and limited parking. The parking bays in the hotels car park can be a little tight to park in but then again my car is of a decent size and bay spacing is of no difference to any high street car park. Reception is clean, spacious and welcoming. Front desk staff are always well presented and methodical. Rooms are spacious and well laid out with one 13 amp socket, but remember that tv's have a USB port if needed to charge you devices. Air con is a too hot for myself but not for my wife. A previous comment noted undue noise because nearby road works. I have not particulary noted any excess noise and would not regard this noise issue from workmen as a problem for which the hotel can be commented on. When the road works are completed the flow of traffic should ease and make life easier for all traveling to and from Slough. There are some signs of light wear and tear to the rooms but this is be expected and the hotel is constantly updating to play catch up. The internet is now fast and effective. Domestic staff will always stop and greet guests with a "Good Morning" Breakfast is pleasant but then again I am not a big eater. It still amazes me how much over indulgence we as a race partake in when food is limitless and how much waste is left on plates. Kitchen staff are happy to cook anything not on offer at Breakfast. Bar food at the end of the day is very nice and fresh. Predominantly the hotel is used for business during the week days and weekends are taken over by families mainly visiting Legoland. I cannot fault the staff who are all polite, professional and proud to work for the hotel. Booking a break is with ease and always done direct through the hotel. I may be biased with my comments but I cannot find any reason not to rebook a break at Copthornes Slough. The hotel is Twenty years old and tiredness is bound to creep in but staff are trying their best to keep on top of issues and doing a good job of it. Tip of the day - Leave your car in the carpark if traveling to London by train and get a very reasonable taxi to the station. Its a no brainer if you take into account station parking fees.
