"Excellent Hotel in a Prime Location"
Hotel D'Angleterre is a grand old hotel that managed to feel fresh rather than stuffy. The rooms are wonderful and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. But the pool/spa area is the real feature that makes this a great place to call home during a busy sightseeing trip. The location is also perfect for tourists.
"A simply wonderful hotel, in a perfect location for exploring the delightful city of Copenhagen"
We loved this hotel! We stayed for a three night break, and found it quite exceptional. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and (as requested when we booked) very quiet (located on the 5th floor.) Service was excellent, and every staff member we came across was exceptionally friendly, professional and helpful. The swimming pool is lovely and a good size (we used it every day.) And the location is just perfect for exploring the city's many attractions. (It's also very easy to get to by public transport; two minutes' walk from Kongens Nytorv metro station, and therefore a simple fifteen minute ride from the airport.) We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time we visit Copenhagen.
"A great stay despite a noisy start"
Check in was good but came unstuck with room. Smallish but very nice. Had asked for a quiet room being a city centre hotel expected some noise but were work at midnight by nightclub in street opposite our first floor window. Rang reception and asked if we could move. In no time the duty manager appeared with another key and move us up the hall to a large suit at the front of the hotel - with absolutely no fuss. Very apologetic and we had lots of space in a very nice suit for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was excellent. The foyer and champagne bars are tiny but we didn't use them. Location very good but there is a building site out the front of hotel which will last until 2018! but location very good. Overall a very good stay.
"Service less than what would be expected "
Although initial welcome was good, the service overall is not good, especially in the restaurant. Delays and lack of attention is common in my experience. Management was not responsive and did not seem available. Some staff were rude actually. While just my opinion here of course ..take it for what it is. Sincere reflection of a frustrated and disappointed guest.
Stayed here with my wife for two nights while visiting our daughter. We had a baptism of glogg on arrival when our server knocked over a glass of this delicious danish speciality while serving us. Poor girl...it was her first day! Apart from that this is an amazing hotel. Our room was beautiful as you would expect. The breakfast buffet was first class too. Expensive....but worth it!
