"Very good place"
I visited Geneva for a short time. The weather was very cold . Stayed in this hotel for two nights. My room was on the Geneva lake view. They have a very good breakfast. All services was very good. You can find may restaurants near it. Also you can get a Geneva lake cruise in front of the hotel.
"Beautiful hotel with great view"
The hotel is located on the lakeside of Lake Geneva with a beautiful view. The staff ist very attentive and helpful. We have enjoyed a great breakfast! The breakfast room is very spacious, therefore the guests can enjoy privacy. The waiter was the friendliest waiter I've ever met. We will certainly come back again.
"Nice Hotel partly renovated"
We stayed at hotel de la Paix for 1 night in early January 2017. We had the choice of opting for an old room or a renovated one. The old one was more privileged with a direct view of the lake and high ceilings. In spite of that we opted for the renovated one that albeit smaller and with a side view of the lake, it was fresher with a fantastic bed and bathroom. So, in choosing a room in this hotel beware that especially the bathrooms in the older rooms are dated and not as pleasant as the ones in the renovated rooms. Bathroom amenities are from the British firm Asprey and of high quality. Breakfast was good, but unfortunately we missed the new renovated breakfast room by a week. The staff was very helpful and even showed us the renovated premises that would open in the following week.
"Great, but without a lobby"
This hotel really has a lot going for it, the rooms are really nicely appointed, and extremely comfortable. There are plenty of place in the room to work, either inside you, or on a small but very nice balcony overlooking the lake and enjoying the beauty of Geneva. Unfortunately I did not feel I could give this hotel five-star since in spite of the fact that this is an extremely expensive hotel, the service is less than fully polished and more importantly, there is no lobby. I was therefore work and there was nowhere to meet clients and I have to go to another hotel to meet clients. Which is extremely disappointing for five-star hotel. There is a dining room, but I went out to check it out before arranging to meet guests there and was made to feel extremely unwelcome in a Germanic way, although this is Swiss France ! Therefore if you are coming for leisure this hotel could not be better, it is located in the heart of Geneva right from the lake. For business until the refurbishments are finished hotel simply does not make the grade.
"High rollers need look no further. THIS is the place to stay in Geneva."
The last time I stayed here was pre-refurb. Now don't get me wrong, there is an art to finding good pre-refurb properties: they CAN sometimes offer outstanding service and excellent location for a surprisingly modest price. But sometimes they're just, well, past their best. And so it was with the Hotel de la Paix. I didn't know what to expect from a Ritz-Carlton refurb. I used to have a high opinion of the chain, and then I stayed in 2016 at their South Beach, Miami property, with which I was deeply disappointed. But I needn't have worried. The guest rooms are now EXCELLENT, some of the best you'll find in Europe. No really, I mean that. The tired old bar has been morphed into the "Living Room" bar-cum-casual restaurant, an experimental concept that actually worked really well for me. But what sets all of the REALLY good luxury hotels apart is the service. And I really must take my hat off to the young men and women on reception and in the restaurant. Very friendly, very professional, very accommodating - really everything you want the staff at a 5-star hotel in Switzerland to be. High rollers need look no further. THIS is the place to stay in Geneva.
