"Omg what a nightmare"
Love this hotel and have stayed here on numerous occasions, however due to the fact that they are currently upgrading my husband refused to stay here this time, I did however persuade him to go for lunch, what a mistake the noise was defining, the tables and chairs were vibrating to the extent that the glasses were rattling on the tables, and when the food arrived the meals were Luke warm with one being fridge cold possibly due to the fact that waiting staff were unable to hear that the food was ready due to the noise... We did complain after which my husbands COLD meal was kindly removed from the bill as were some drinks I left with a headache and a sinking feeling that I will never persuade my husband to stay here again. I know that there are refurbishments ongoing and appreciate that things need to be done however there are no signs either outside or inside the hotel to warn of excessive noise, I have had warmer burgers and a far more pleasurable experience in McDonald's.
"Amazing hotel, highly recommended"
Nice is a beautiful city and this hotel is definitely a must stay. They're under renovations currently which will the concierge advised us that it will be completed in 2018 however this didn't spoil our stay as long as you don't want sleep in. We were upgraded to a suite which over looked the current renovations again we didn't mind this. You receive free entry to the casino that the movie Casino Royal was filmed in (for those bond lovers). The most amazing casino that we've ever been too! Breakfast was well over priced....
"The Perfect Weekend"
Usually Hotel De Paris would be way out of our price range, but last weekend I wanted to propose to my partner and have always thought it was the most romantic hotel in Monaco. The location is just about the best in the world and pulling up outside gives a real WOW factor. The hotel is having building work done but don't let it put you off. Inside and out the building is breathtaking. I feared we might feel a bit out of place but the staff all went out of their way to give the full VIP experience, even treating us to a cheeky upgrade with views of Casino Square. In the evening we enjoyed some cocktails in Le Bar Americain and there aren't many better places to spend your time than there! If you can, I would recommend champagne in the room too - ours came with some delightful little lemon cakes in a glass presentation dome. If you're planning a romantic trip or a proposal, I can't recommend this incredible place highly enough. Very, very special 👌 (And he said yes!) 😊
"Poor attitude from staff. The Metropole is far better."
I travel non-stop around the world for work. I expected to love the Hotel de Paris. But it was actually one of the worst luxury hotels I have stayed in.So different to legendary reputation. First the good points: the view from the Harbour View room was lovely. There was also a very nice and helpful lady that served breakfast through room service. However the decor in the room was out of date. I understand the hotel is being refurbished at the moment, so hopefully this will improve. The attitude from the porter was terrible. So lazy. He could not even be bothered to set the suitcase up on the stand. Some of the information given to me by the reception staff was wrong in relation to the bus down to the Beach Club that meant I was waiting around for a while at the bus stop outside the hotel. I was sworn at by a house-maid when I was trying to ask her to make the bed up with a blanket. I complained downstairs about this incident and asked to speak with the Duty Manager. They lied to me and told me that there was no manager on duty. They just weren't interested about the incident with the house maid. So very poor. So I have to say that this hotel justifiably earned the rating of "Terrible". I would also recommend the Metropole (where I have also stayed) as being far better. The staff are alot friendlier and more professional, and the hotel does not seem so musty. I was recently back in Monaco. I didn't go back to the Hotel de Paris due to the previous experience when staying there. But when I walked past it I noticed it was basically one big noisy construction site, and they are just running guests in one part of the hotel. A poor hotel to which I will never return.
"Exquisite and very romantic !"
