The Hotel de Rome is in the thriving Mitte district at the centre of Berlin. It is located on Bebelplatz, just off Unter den Linden. The Bebelplatz is one of the most impressive squares in Berlin, bordered by imposing classical buildings and has lots of things to see; to the right of the hotel is the Opera House, and to the left is the former Royal Library, which now houses the University Law School.
Mitte is one of the oldest districts in Berlin, so naturally there are plenty of sights to see and things to do. The Brandenburg Gate is nearby, just off the Bebelplatz, as are the Reichstag and the Alexanderplatz. There are plenty of museums to see, including the National Gallery, the Pergamon Museum, the Berlin Cathedral and the Museum of Antiquities. After all that history, if what you fancy is a nice relaxing dinner, or a look around the shops, then getting around Berlin couldn’t be easier due to this superb location at the heart of the city.

"Great location, great staff"
Stayed as part of BA holiday deal - wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise. Greeted with a handshake on arrival and the staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful throughout stay. Hotel has plenty of modern touches but retains its charm Room a good size with plenty of storage and the bathroom was enormous. Not much for the English speaker on TV. Plenty of choice for breakfast and open until 10 which is a real bonus for late risers on holidays. Pool is a decent size at it's longest although the water could do with being warmer. Changing room had lots of toiletries, including deodorant, which I've never seen before
"Location, Boutique, Classy"
Very nice boutique hotel. We had king with ample sized room with great bathroom. Staff was very responsive from check in to every need. Hotel was former bank of the old East Germany, hallways are very wide with very tall ceilings. While this makes the place feel a little sterile for a hotel, knowing the history makes it cool. Very centrally located to Brandenburg Gate and the pubs and shops of the now chic and happening, former neighborhood of East Germany inside the Iron Curtain. We totally enjoyed our stay at this hotel, stayed for 3 nights, enjoyed time in the lobby bar. Staff was super polite. Was in town for business meeting and thought business meeting rooms were very nice for our needs of 12 people.
"historic renovation top notch service"
Hotel is well located in a touristy neighborhood surrounded by lots of restaurants and shopping. They renovated an old building and did it right. My issue was my room was not ready after flying from NYC so I went had breakfast(really good!) and then when my room was ready i went upstairs to find it wasnt prepared, UGH So they quickly moved me to another room with a balcony. I had dinner in the main restaurant as well. equally as good. strongly recommending you book through leading hotels of the world for a slew of benefits which make the stay even nicer. They have an indoor pool, nice spa, but the gym is quite small and really only good for aerobic machines.
Fantastic location, friendly staff, beautiful lobby and public areas, great food (amazing breakfast both hot and cold items) and the bar made incredible cocktails..we had the added bonus of seeing the festival of lights right onto the building. The rooms are very comfortable, great bedding, spacious bathrooms. And indoor pool with steam and sauna open till 2200.
"Stunning hotel with good attention to detail"
I was delighted to arrive to a Festival of Light display projected on the outside of this beautiful hotel. The pool was a little disappointing because it was so small and cramped but the rooms were beautiful and the hotel bar relaxed and welcoming. Would definitely stay again
