We stayed three nights at this hotel. It is in an excellent location. Short walk to the main shopping streets and beside the old bridge that takes you up to the Cite. The view from the bedrooms at the front are of the Castle. Certainly worth paying extra for the rooms with a view. We ate in the restaurant which is at the top of the hotel and again has fantastic views, especially after dark. There was a coach party being catered for so service was perhaps not as attentive as on quieter nights. The food was good. There is a roof top internal swimming pool - we did not use it as it was always busy, being a holiday weekend, it was popular with families. Our room was compact. There was a separate toilet and a very compact bathroom. My only gripe was total lack of drawer space. A wardrobe with six hangars. So we kept clothes in the cases, personally I prefer to unpack, put things away and have a tidy room. There was plenty of free car parking close to the hotel. The hotel also has a payable car park. We did not have breakfast. There are plenty of options close by.
We stayed two nights in a balcony room with views of the City de Carcassonne. The staff are excellent. We eat both nights in the panoramic restaurant on the fourth floor. Both the food and service were superb. We parked our car in the secure underground car park. The air conditioning and wifi work well. We will definitely come again.
"Excellent view of the Medieval city"
Request rooms with a view of the medieval city but these do have a premium. The hotel is fine with friendly staff. Rooms are compact with small separate toilet and bathroom which could benefit from and extraction system. Very clean and well looked after. There was not a bar except within the restaurant which did not seem to encourage social drinking and no bar nearby.
"Good Location "
Great location overlooking the old Cite comfortable rooms and very friendly and helpful staff close to old town and airport bus drops off at the Dome which is a few minutes walk to the hotel ( airport bus is 5euros each way and is sync to flights the driver was the friendliest I have ever meet ) train St is not too far so you can explore other places easily ( airport bus also drops here ) Toulouse is around 45 mins - 1 hour depending what train you catch - plenty of restaurants near by - Carcassonne is a very lovely place with the cobbles in the old Cite and some lovely eating places - you can do the castle walls but there is a lot of steps - only restaurants open in the evening but well worth a visit - I would recommend this hotel for the Location on the edge of the river and easy access to explore - it's a bit of a steep climb to the Cite but worth it
"Spring in Carcassonne"
We went to Carcassonne for 5 nights in March, I chose the hotel from the internet and was not disappointed. I asked for a room on a higher floor with a view of the Cite this is beautiful when lit up at night. The amenities in the hotel were excellent. The restaurant also had a lovely view of the Cite. It is only a 15 min walak to the Cite with all the history and many cafes and restaurants. We ate one night in the restaurant and the meal was excellent and a good price. Will definitely return.
