"Perfect for a romantic weekend away"
My partner and I picked hotel based purely on its fairytale appearance... and then we read a couple of the reviews which sealed the deal. When we arrived it did not disappoint. The local cab driver even said oh nice 'best hotel in Bruges' Turns out it's right in the centre, walking distance to all the 'main attractions' and about 20 minutes walk to the Station. The receptionist was very friendly, spoke fantastic English (we were told to speak English rather that French in Bruges) and offered us any help regarding getting around and advice on places to visit. The room was lovely. Huge bed. The pillows were amazing. Big tv and a window that actually opened without a security lock. The bathroom was great, very clean, separate bath and shower. The only real issue is that the air con wasn't amazing, my partner and I both woke up far too warm in the night throughout our stay. Another nitpick is there is no information of the wifi in the room or the room information book. As we arrived late, It wasn't a big deal at the time and it wasn't until the following evening at reception I realised there is wifi! So don't sweat if you're like me and don't notice the sign upon arrival. The breakfast was fantastic. A big buffet selection of all you could want. A nice touch is that there is also a chocolate and cava table in the middle. The orange juice they serve was probably up there with the nicest I've had. We drank at the bar a few times during our stay. Friendly staff, not overly expensive compared to the other bars in the area. Recommend the Bruges Tripel, tasty beer found in most bars. We also had trouble finding a restaurant to dine in so last minute on the Saturday night. Would like to thank Samuel for trying his best to help us! Overall, if you're coming to Bruges. Stay here if you can.
This is a tremendous hotel in the town center that just drips with grandeur. We visited Bruges in early February and the price was ridiculously cheap for value. The hotel, like the city is extremely clean. The breakfast was HUGE
"Beautiful start to Bruges "
Ahhh what to say about Duke's Palace, I'd like to just begin with a little background information. We came to Bruges on a small 4 night break, a romantic couples long weekend, we are both between 25-30, one a pastry chef, one a historian. I wouldn't normally divulge any personal information but we just found this hotel so charming, I thought a few extra details may help you decide when booking this wonderful place. I do prefer luxury travelling and top notch food, at Duke's Palace I found the small extras just added to a perfect trip. Our room was elegant, some period features but still clean and modern. We had a complimentary note wishing us a happy engagement and box of Belgian praline chocolates (surely every woman can be won over by some authentic praline!'), the bathroom was large and spacious, toiletries were great, the staff were FANTASTIC and as it was easter they were handing out sugared praline eggs down at reception....truly the best thing I've ever tasted (there we go with chocoate again!). I usually opt to eat out of the hotel so I apologise, I can't comment on the restaurant here. It is more pricey than your usual hotel, if you're heading to Bruges for a romantic weekend or you'd like to spend a bit extra to treat yourselves, we simply could not fault this hotel. I've mentioned the staff already but you just can't fault the customer service of this place, so helpful and friendly, whether it's midnight or first thing, they were always pleasant and laughing. Thank you so much for a fabulous stay.
"Stunning hotel in heart of Bruges"
My husband and I stayed here 2 nights in Feb 2017. The exterior and interior of the hotel are gorgeous and well taken care of. The room and bathroom are a nice size & bigger than we expected. The bath products are nice as well. Everyone who works here has been so helpful and kind. After returning to the hotel from a dinner out one night we went to the common room on the ground level and ordered a make your own hot chocolate from the bar. It was a delicious treat and was accompanied by yummy bar snacks. The hotel is a quick and easy walk to the Markt, shopping, canals, and restaurants. We won't stay anywhere else if/when we return to Bruges!
"Best hotel in Bruges!"
Never wanted to leave. Amazingly comfy bed and beautifully decorated rooms, friendly and efficient service. Just walking up to the hotel made you feel special. 3 minute walk from the main centre - ideal location.
