"First class for all we wanted"
Price, position and friendliness made this hotel in my opinion worth a score of 5. I have paid double the price and got nowhere near what this hotel delivered. We arrived an hour early and were shown straight to our room on the 7th floor. The room was good size with a nice view over the city and mountains beyond. There was a safe, fridge, cable tv, tea & coffee, a desk and large king bed. The air conditioning was perfect and the wifi good, most of the time. The staff really were friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast was more than adequate with plenty to choose at the buffet. The chef was always around ensuring everyone was happy and we occasionally saw the manager touring the restaurant and bar area to ensure all was running smoothly. We ate at the hotel on the first night and felt it was fair price and was good service. The hotel is very central and close to quite a few restaurants including the Metro Shopping Centre. We were able to stock our fridge with many goodies to make the stay even more relaxing. When leaving, the receptionist made everything easy and the taxi was there right away. A first class effort by everyone concerned with the Hotel Elizabeth. I really do believe if anyone has complaints about the place they must be very unlucky or expect a lot more for $50 a night than I did. Well done we would definitely stay again.
"Friendly staff, problematic door card access"
The staff are friendly. We only had issues with the door lock - we were not able to open our room for around an hour and was late for work. We asked for help and the engineer took very long time to open it so we requested for another room. They did not offer us to move to another room so we had to request for it. After that, I also asked for a discount for our stay and was granted around 1,000 Php deduction.
"Great place to stay"
Friendly staff, good food, great surroundings. The hotel is super clean and beautiful. It has a good gym to keep your fitness. The main balcony has a great view of the city and you can relax there while having a coffee or drink. Taxis are always available to take you wherever you might want to go to. We had a pleasent stay.
We got the Penthouse Room 1102 which has 2 bedrooms. We were gathered at the Master's bedroom at around 1am we found out we couldn't open door. We were trapped inside, so naturally we called for help and the front office personnel told us to just wait till the next day since there was no one "awake" to help us open the door. We all freaked out got scared, began to feel claustrophobic and started to panic. We demanded for help and only then did they send someone and knocked open the door after more than an hour from our first call. It felt like forever. The OIC and some guy from the engineering department came the next day to investigate the incident and did not even empathize with us. They did not offer anything to compensate and promised to get in touch with us. But that never happened. I made several attempts to follow up, i texted the OIC and the resident manager and not a word from them. They do not go out of their way for their guest which is what a hotel should be most specially in cases like this. So if you still want to explore Cebu the next day.. do not stay here.
I read the reviews and noticed most if not everyone saying something about long check-in... BELIEVE IT. we arrived late around 4:30PM and still rooms were not ready. The receptionist/front desk kept doing other things that made you just want to scream and ask why they even bother to have people line up. The room we got could use a little more cleaning. The breakfast that came with the room was not worth getting up to. The servers served for the heck of it. A bucket of clumped ice cost us 35php which should have been free to begin with. Will we go back' NEVER AGAIN! *this is as objective as I could relay the experience, any more detail and you might think I'm being biased.
