We spent two nights in this fabulous hotel. The staff were perfect. The room was superb, spotlessly clean with everything you could want for a short stay. We were there in the middle of October 2016 and I can only imagine what it must be like in warmer weather. The views out over the sea are spectacular and the outside dining area with that view means I will come back again when the weather is warm enough to take advantage! The food is excellent, the choice in the evening is not huge but caters for most tastes, my wife is Vegan and they were helpfullness personified, nothing seemed to be too much trouble and everything we ate was cooked to perfection. I must mention the breakfast, my heart normally sinks when I see a bouffet breakfast, congealed eggs, scrambled ones like rubber, overcooked bacon etc etc, but not here, there was a wonderful selection of Italian, English and continental food on offer. Things like omlettes, boiled eggs etc are cooked in front of you to your requirement, all done with a smile and near perfect English spoken as well, Also French and German. Their events board had information about live music events at the hotel from time to time, mostly Jazz from memory and some well known musicians. All in all highly recommended
We stayed at the Hotel Emilia for three nights. We were welcomed with drinks and shown to our rooms which had fantastic views. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent and the service excellent. The breakfast was great with a chef cooking omelettes and scrambled eggs to order. We would definitely come to this hotel again!
"Magnificent in every way"
Watch the sunrise from your bed! We stayed for three days of elegant relaxation on the shores of the Adriatic. First time at Hotel Emilia - what a gem! Superb staff, warm welcome, parking right out front. Beautiful modern hotel with breathtaking views of the sea. Magnificent breakfast (home baked cakes and bread, a chef to make to-order eggs, great coffee) with seating on the outdoor patio for the most relaxed, elegant, peaceful mornings. Lovely pool, amazing modern art throughout. Located inside Conero park, so quiet and green surroundings. Late in the season, so we didn't experience the beach, but it is a 5-minute drive down the mountain to a lovely little beach (with seaside restaurants and chairs and umbrellas for rent). But really, why leave Hotel Emilia's peaceful oasis' Swim in the pool, lounge overlooking the sea from your private perch. Heaven!
"Incredible hilltop property, very relaxing and"
We only stayed one night but would have liked to have stayed longer. This is a well-maintained hotel located on top of the cliff overlooking Portonovo and the Adriatic. Perfect to just unplug and relax for a few days. The property is really just stunning - you can watch the sun rise over the sea and set over the hills. There are some scuptures in the garden and lots of different seating options available for al fresco dining. The pool is large and there are lots of deck chairs surrounding. We stayed in mid-September and had no problem securing a deck chair, but I believe that the suites include a reserved chair by the pool. We decided to treat ourselves as a belated anniversary gift and booked the "Royal Suite" which was really incredible. It's a very large room with windows overlooking the sea, the garden, and the pool. There are separate bed, living, and bathrooms with parquet floors and all are very large sizes, especially for Europe. It also has a large private terrace that runs the length of all three rooms with sun lounger chairs and a small dining area. There is a kitchenette as well (though we didn't use this). Check out photos on their website! Breakfast was included with our room and was a vast buffet of pastries, fruit, meat and cheese, and eggs to order. Our only complaint was that the bees were very attracted to the juice. There is a "shuttle service" down to the beach during set hours. I wasn't really sure what to expect exactly but a very friendly man drove a small SUV down to the beach and we agreed on a pick up time but also got the phone number of the hotel. The hotel itself is a bit isolated, which is part of the charm. We didn't want to rent a car, so we arrived by train in Ancona and took a city taxi to the hotel, which was about 35 euro on the meter. The hotel arranged for a flat rate driver to take us back to the train station.
"The most restful place you can be in Ancona .... and really great food"
We have stayed at the Hotel Emilia several times over the last 8 years. On this last visit, we really enjoyed the wonderful food and service. Breakfast was included in the rate that we got. The buffet was wonderful with fresh fruit and any kind of baked goods you would want -- and there was a chef to prepare eggs for you, while you waited. The outdoor eating was also so pleasant. We were in Italy when it was quite warm, but the breeze (the Hotel is on a cliff overlooking the Adriatic) was just perfect. We also ate lunch at the hotel several times. They were featuring great local wines while we were there, and the recommendation (so inexpensive) from the waiter both times was right on.
