"Wow... Just wow. "
Although I live in São Paulo, I have booked the Emiliano Suite for a special night out with the wife. What a treat! The hotel is very modern and nicely decorated. The suite is beautiful decorated and enormous. A pity this hotel does not offer a hit swimming pool like the competition. Nevertheless, a certain choice for people searching for the best hotels in São Paulo.
"An urban refuge!"
It is a perfect location for my work needs; the rooms are well laid out, clean, and quiet. The front desk staff is friendly, professional, and helpful. I'll stay here again for my next SP visit. Concierge was especially helpful; bartender was especially attentive.
So I went back to the Emiliano. I had 2 days in Sao Paulo and as I mentioned in my previous there just isn't a better location to stay in Sao Paulo. I found a pretty OK price on Hotels.com and decided to take the plunge. This time around I spoke to a manager on duty before hand to make sure everything goes well. Unfortunately I cannot remember her name but she did a spectacular job at making sure Emiliano makes a fan out of me. Yes the elevators are still minimal but the location is still unbeatable, the service is still outstanding and the room is beyond impeccable. I left wanting more and I will come back for sure.
"good, but not as good as they think it is"
i'm often torn when reviewing hotels in developing nations; do i judge them with the same criteria i'd judge a hotel in a richer country, or do i cut them some slack because they have less to work with' my stay at the emiliano was fine. the bed was super comfortable. the shower so powerful i didn't want to get out. there were plenty of television channels. the shampoo came in full sized bottles. there were also full sized bars of soap--one for the shower and one for the sink; quite generous in these days of cutting back. not much of a view, but nothing so scary we kept the shades drawn. the decor had a modern bent, which i prefer. and the treats delivered every afternoon were lick the plate delicious. however, in a city where i can dine soup to nuts in one of the finest restaurants in the world for around 200USD (dom which i highly recommend) and an hour's uber ride costs under ten bucks, what's up with charging nearly $500 a night for a simple room' i found the emiliano's version of elegant service a bit off-putting and intrusive. brazil is a country inventing itself; rather than trying and failing to pull of a seamless european experience, why not give me something uniquely brazilian' of course, these are bigger problems than can be addressed here. would i stay at the emiliano again' yes, i surely would. but as a paid the bill i'd ache for other high end choices.
I always look for the best hotel in any city I go doesn't matter the rate. Unfortunately with Emiliano you will get mistaken with you trust that the most expensive rate will get you to the best hotel. The bad service quality starts even before you get there. It took me 5 phone calls to try make my reservation. Staff said that they were too busy that is why they hung up after letting me on hold for a long while 3 times. Reception always lay about hotel capacity. If they say it is our last room or the hotel capacity is to high don't trust them. It is part of their marketing to try to justify such an over priced rate for a room without a bath tube and a hotel without a pool. I tried to give Emiliano one more try, but Fasano Hotel will still be my favorite option- way more classy, bigger rooms, two saunas beautiful pool and impeccable hospitality.
