The Golden Well Hotel, our hotel in Prague centre is located below the walls of Prague Castle and surrounded by the Castle rose gardens in the quaint Mala Strana or "Little Quarter" of Prague. This beautiful historic building is just a short walk from some of Prague's most impressive sights, including the Charles Bridge, the Royal Gardens, St. Nicholas Cathedral and the Old Town Square. During the summer months our guests are privileged to use the Emperor's private entrance, which leads directly to the Royal Gardens.

Sometimes you look a place in order to be special, when it happens, the expectations tend to be really high. Well, I can say that our time in Golden Well exceed everything that we expect. The facilities are wonderful but the staff is the reason of an unforgettable place.
"Cozy and romantic"
My wife and I stayed here for two nights on our first visit to Prague. The hotel is ideally located below the palace walls and is convenient to a majority of the downtown sites. The staff was accommodating and available to special requests. We stayed in room 31 which was very comfortable if suffering from a rather tortured floorplan. The amenities were consistent with a five star hotel experience. The breakfast was lovely. The restaurant was delicious. The bar is tiny and holds a maximum of six guests. If you are looking for cozy and romantic this is the place. Highly recommended.
"Highly Recommended !"
As many of the other reviews have clearly stated, this hotel offers a first class experience. Great service, beautiful clean rooms, and wonderful food. For us another key benefit is the location. This hotel is located at the base of the castle on the other side of the river from the Old Town, which has an entirely different feel. We much preferred the castle side of the river, where there are great restaurants and shops, as well as museums. We took advantage of the airport car transfer which went without a hitch and Simon warmly welcomed us to the hotel and showed us around. I would recommend taking advantage of the breakfast deal by booking directly with the hotel. Overall a wonderful experience that made our trip to the wonderful city of Prague special.
"Understated luxury, with excellent restaurant"
We stayed here as a family, in 2 suites, for our 5 day holiday in Prague. The hotel occupies a number of the grand old terraced houses below the castle in Prague, centred around a small private courtyard, and approached from a cobbled street. There are glimpses of the lovely view of the old town from outward-facing windows. The interior is beautiful, and in keeping with the age of the building, with lots of solid wood stairs and floors, plush drapery and beautiful paintings of Prague The rooms are similarly decorated, luxurious and immaculately clean. The generous selection of Molton Brown miniature products was much enjoyed, thank-you. Each room has Nespresso or Illy coffee machines with pods, and a selection of fruit replenished every day, as does the lounge of the hotel. The staff are helpful without being intrusive, very professional. We went to the the Terrace restaurant on the first night. Although very pricey, it is outstanding and very well worth going to even if you are not staying in the hotel itself. The cooking is first rate, and I ate the best pigeon I have ever had. The house wines are delectable. The dining room itself is fabulous, with tall windows looking out over Prague. The only criticism I have is the cost of breakfast, which even at the BnB rate ( but must include all your breakfasts during your stay) of €20 PP, is too steep. There are lovely cafes not far away which offer much better value for money. We simply do not eat enough breakfast to justify the cost. Work on that, and you'll be perfect!
"So Charming ! "
We could not have been happier with our stay at the Golden Well Hotel. It is quaint, charming and in an idyllic location. Situated in Mala Strana just beneath the Prague castle, the hotel has an interesting history of its own. It feels more like staying in a local home rather than a hotel. I definitely recommend adding the daily breakfast to your stay. It is excellent and boasts one of the best views out over all of Prague from the dining room. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and perfectly clean, and we certainly enjoyed the nightly treats on the bedside tables. This area of Prague is much quieter than the main old town, which was so pleasant, but the walk to the old town square across the Charles bridge is easy and so picturesque. Actually walking anywhere was no trouble at all. Exploring the charming streets surrounding the hotel was one of my favorite parts of the trip! Above all, the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. It is clear that excellent service is their goal and they definitely achieve it. I somehow felt like I was more apart of Prague staying in this lovely hotel. If I'm ever back to Prague, which I hope I am, I will stay here again and I certainly recommend it to others.
