"Spacious and well located"
We were there for the marathon and have enjoyed an upgrade to an Ambassador Suite. It was very spacious with a huge bathroom and it was also very calm as the hotel is not directly on the main thoroughfares. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast on the top floor and good. They have a pool on the roof which was nice, too. Everything was very clean but the overall look is a bit outdated and rather darkish. But you can walk to everything from here and we felt happy overall!
"Lovely apartments "
We stayed in the consul suite. It was very spacious and really clean. The apartment was serviced each day we stayed. Enough room for our toddler to run around and we requested a cot which was installed before our arrival. The bath is much bigger than normal and literally everything surpassed our expectations. The blinds are electronic which is pretty cool so we weren't awoken with the bright sunshine. We didn't have breakfast here so cannot comment and the pool was closed for maintenance but that was no problem as we knew prior to booking. The hotel is situated 5 minutes walk from the beach with lots of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets close by. The reception team were so friendly and helped with any questions we had. They booked us a taxi to and from the airport and it was excellent. There is a member of staff there all night so it was piece of mind that if any problems had arisen there would be someone there to help. We are sad to leave and thank you to the staff for adding to our wonderful holiday in Nice. We cannot wait to return :)
I felt duped by this hotel. I was looking forward to a luxurious weekend break with my husband and daughter in Nice for my birthday. So we paid for what we thought would be a pretty luxurious hotel. But Goldstar is not what the pictures lead you to believe! The only plus points are the size of the rooms/suites and the quality of the cleaning. Apart from that you may as well be staying in a Travelodge. There's no soul to this place. It's just somewhere to sleep!! And as for breakfast-ha! They don't really seem to want to feed you! It was always understaffed and, to give some perspective, on the morning of my birthday (which went unnoticed by all staff btw!) I had to ask for a table to be cleared so we could sit at it...for some plates to be brought out as there were none available...for some bread as there was none...for some eggs as there was none....and we were'n't late or anything! This was having breakfast at a normal time. I then watched the staff as they checked over the breakfast offerings on the tables, and it seemed to be a case of, leave as little out as possible and see if people ask for it!!! Very poor and certainly not what you expect from the pictures and the star rating that Goldstar is given on holiday sites! My 7 year old thought it was the worst hotel we'd ever stayed at. And she didn't know how much it cost!! But, considering the fact that we could have had a week away in Spain for the price we paid for 3 nights here, I must agree that the whole experience was very poor and nowhere near the standards that I was expecting!!!
Stayed here for a night and the location was fantastic!! Hotel is a little. It tired looking but we had a very comfortable suite and staff were pleasant. Small but nice pool & gym area for guests which was a bonus for us. We had a continental breakfast which was adequate. Would stay again.
Stayed here with friends for the Nice Cannes Marathon. Was in a great location, reasonably priced and good sized rooms with 3 of us sharing. The pool and sauna facilities on the roof provided a brilliant place to relax.
