"Girls weekend away"
I stayed here with a group of girlfriends in a triple and a twin room for 3 nights. We stayed over the May Day weekend and spent three days sipping champagne, eating lovely food, lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun and catching up on each others news. It was a perfect location for us all as we had each flown into Malaga from all different places. The hotel itself is out of the way, not busy, quiet, yet with all the luxurious touches of the prime Puerto Banus or Marbella spots. We travelled by Hoppa from Malaga and then two friends who came later hired car from the airport. It is very easy to find. Can't recommend it enough if you just want a few days with your girlfriends in the sun. If you're looking for party-central this isn't for you.
Great location, great holiday every thing positive about this hotel except the breakfast is a little bit boring. And that's it really. The Christmas brunch is very good with lobster, prawns & fillet steak on the grill. The Breakfast location is fantastic you can sit almost on the beach with Marbella to the left and Gibraltar to the right.
We spent three nights in this hotel as a family with two small children and in a way it was the best for us in the whole area. The service was professional, the room was spacious and clean, we were particularly pleased with the restaurant that offered high quality food both a la carte and on a buffet. Other than that during our stay the pool area was closed , but it seemed well maintained. The spa wasn't impressive and it needs renovation. There was a notable absence of any area dedicated to children, swimming pool or a simple playground. For our particular needs the location of the 'hotel was a downside given that it is located in a residential area some 10 km west of Marbella, with only one pricey restaurant nearby. However, we were truly pleased with the service from the reception and the hotel restaurant.
"Boring, impersonal and reduced facilities"
From 1. Impersonal welcoming, very few guests but no extra service like would you like a map, have you considered to visit our spa or the like. A man showed us our room. The keys didn't work. I can live with that but it happened three times during our visit. Th eparking entrance and exit was also comfusing. You had to ask for yet Another parking ticket to be able to exit and enter several times. it didn't work, so we just pressed for a new ticket each time. One can live with this to and smile, Spanish standard and rather charming, but it is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. We had checked the website beforehand for hotel restauarants and there were supposed to be two. We were well aware of the pool facilities being closed for the Winter, bit the site didn't state that the restaurants opening hours were also reduced. We entered the location that was open and felt discouraged. Luckily, we found a very pleasant local restaurant El Cortijo de Ramiro. Do go! We had also made plans for the spa, but it stank of chlorine and to me it means that you have to kill a lot of germs, Almost breathing difficulties when we just passed by to have a check. Nothing in this hotel made an impression. The room spacious yes, the breakfast nice with a pleasant view, and we were pleased to receive a good discount on the greenfee, but apart from that' Make sure you get a bargain if you stay here.
"Autumn Break in the Sun"
A lovely beach front hotel with a good-sized pool. Room was huge - bath with shower, king size bed plus room for a sofa, chair and coffee table - and- a good size sea view balcony with afternoon sun. The hotel is perfect if you want an away from it all break - it is located in a smart residential area but there are no bars, shops or restaurants within a mile or so from the hotel - a car is necessary if you want to go out and about or local taxi to take you into Puerto Banus, Marbella 10 and 20 mins or so away respectively. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room but room service will provide at €3.50 each plus €5 service charge! The slide in sterling has made a significant difference we found eg beer at €10 per pint and spirits with mixers the same however these are hotel prices and whilst in Peurto Banus prices were considerably lower. Two days before we were due to fly home we found a really nice restaurant walking distance from the hotel 150 yards or so away - typically Spanish cuisine - so good we went back the next night as well. The beach is shingle but the sunbeds are on a grass verge which is great if you prefer swimming in the sea - overall we found it just too far out of town - if you like to wander around shops, lol in bars and have a good choice of restaurants nearby this is not for you. If on the other hand you want a really quiet break with nobody but golfers and other guests and don't want to move then this is the place - it is lovely and we had no complaints - we just chose the wrong location for us.
