"Luxury stay in a fantastic city"
The hotel is located in a former monestery in the old town, a short walk from all the major attractions. The hotel has been sympathetically restored and is beautifully maintained. Our room on the first floor, was comfortable and large, with a nice seating area, windows opened onto the hotel entrance area. comfortable size. Our Breakfast was included in the price and was delicious with plenty of variety. Parking is available in front of the main entrance. Internet in the room was a problem as we use it at all times to plan our trip. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful, it was a quieter time when we were there and it was nice to talk with the staff about themselves. A young man served us everyday at breakfast, I can't recall his name but he had studied geology at University, he was most helpful, recommending places to visit in our onward journey to Santiago. It's certainly a hotel to return to in future and I totally recommend it.
"posh hotel but not very inviting"
there was no cafe or nice outside lounge where we could have just sit and enjoy a drink. the bar was inside and there was never anyone attending it. the rooms are rather dark (it is a historic hotel, with small windows) and a lot of the rooms face the courtyard (which means : no view and not much light). the bathroom door is quite fancy but does not provide much privacy.
"Breakfast in a monastic refectory!"
Clean, comfortable, cosy place to say the minimum, a luxurious spot to describe it better. it is a converted monastery where you are subject to have an unforgettable experience. All staff are attentive and kind, and breakfast, which is lavish and delicious, is served at a huge refectory. Thoroughly recommended. Marcio and Ana
A romantic weekend away booked weeks in advance. The single request I made was a double bed - guess what.... "not available"! The negatives: The staff appeared to be 98% male, which I can assure you does not equate to efficiency. The room was small, dark and pokey, very poorly lit and the walls were paper thin. Expect to be asked at least 10 times what your room number is by different members of staff at breakfast. Be aware that, despite what your booking may say, they always charge for breakfast - but won't mention it when you check in. If you are a member of the SPG Starwood rewards programme, don't waste your points here - you'll be treated as a second class customer. The positive: Salamanca is lovely, the hotel is in a good location and there are plenty of bars and restaurants worth visiting - unlike the ones in this hotel.
"Perfect location, excellent service"
Stayed here for 2 nights on a 2 week trip through Spain. Location is perfect in Salamanca. Easy walk to main square and cathedrals. Very impressed with front desk service. Parked the car for us, carried the bags, very responsive. Would stay here again for sure. Breakfast was very good. Did not have dinner here.
