Stayed here for one night with my wife . The hotel is easy to find in a great location to explore the city by foot . The hotel is gorgeous a magnificent restoration modernised in a sympathetic way. The rooms are modern and comfortable although ours was a bit noisy from traffic . A lovely breakfast in a superb room .Great service at reception too .
"Wonderful hotel in the city centre "
We stayed at the hotel with our family. We all loved the incredible architecture of the building and the modern decorations. It is a very peaceful place with incredible views to the cathedral and the San Esteban private garden. The staff was very attentive and polite. It is perfect located right by the city centre. Don't miss to visit el convento de San Esteban.
"Wonderful accommodation and setting - can't fault it"
I wasn't sure how this accommodation was going to be after staying at a Parador in Leon, but it was simply wonderful. The rooms and facilities were lovely - and this in 3 weeks was the only hotel where we had an in room kettle to use. The room for breakfast is in the basement and has been wonderfully designed to take advantage of the buildings architecture. You can walk to pretty much everything once you rae here, so you can leave the car in either the hotel carpark. Note that they don't have many carparks so if you are there when it is busy you will likely not get one, but they do seem to have an arrangement with a nearby car park which is where we had to leave our car for a couple of days (and cost-wise I don't think there is a difference). It's pretty easy to find with during though and you can drop off your bags at reception and circle round to parking quite easily (especially is you have a husband with you who is ok with driving on the right). I would have absolutely no hesitation in staying there again (and Salamanca is well worth visiting).
"We just loved it!"
We just loved this hotel. The staff, the service, the room and the building were first class. We received a great welcome after a long journey and settled into our room. It was very comfortable and I just loved the view across the courtyard below. The wifi was really good. The location is right by the cathedral and a 10 minute walk from the old city. Parking on site was easy. Breakfast was one of the best I have had. The food is cooked fresh for you from a menu order. The hotel is not cheap but worth ever penny. Thank you for a lovely stay.
If you come here to visit the monuments, this hotel is in a great location. If you want to be near shopping and restaurants, then look for something near Plaza Mayor. I found the location very peaceful, close to all major sightseeing spots. The spa is quite limited, only a Turkish hamam which is connected to a small gym. There is no changing room, shower or even a hook to hang your bathrobe. The rooms are nicely decorated, good size, has all you need. The regular rooms actually have better views than some of the higher category rooms. But the higher category rooms are easier to access being in the main building. The restaurant is pretty good. I had a very good dinner (great suckling pig and fish to try) the 2nd dinner with risotto and shrimp was lower quality. I have stayed in a few converted convent 5 star hotels before. Just to set expectations right, It is like a convent, don't expect luxury castle style hotels as in some of the converted Spanish Paradores. So the most beautiful part of the hotel is usually the dining room and inner courtyard. Yes, I mentioned great service. The hotel tried best to accommodate my needs and moved me to a quieter room at 11 pm because my noisy neighbors were having a party in the room. Given the price and quality, I have to say I had a very nice stay.
