The customer service was fantastic! Had a great stay but the walls are a bit thin when people come and go or their phones ring.Comment of C. Karen , United States the 2016-02-17
Everone on the hotel staff was friendly and courtuous from the ballman to the desk clerks to the managers. Without even asking, they assigned me a handicapped room as they saw my difficulty walking.Comment of D. John , United States the 2015-07-21
Very nice rooms, accommodating and friendly staff. Great central location for shopping, museums and restaurants. We stay here every year during One of a Kind Show at Merchandise Mart.Comment of M. VICKI , United States the 2015-07-12
Very nice hotel in a good location with lovely views. Facilities were a bit limited for such a large hotel. I would have been good to have an indoor pool.Comment of D. Martin , United Kingdom the 2015-07-01

Had a great experience. Elevators seemed a little slow but what do you expect it's the largest hotel around :)Comment of L. Leigh , United States the 2014-07-01
Our room was ready upon check in. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and made nice recommendations based on our questions. The location was perfect for our adventures - baseball/theater/biking.Comment of J. Janet , United States the 2014-06-06
Danach lief alles okay. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dieses Hotel auswählen.Comment of D. "For a flagship hotel, this doesn't deserve the accolades"
The hotel started out promising when we checked in at the main lobby. The doormen and bellmen were nice and we had a lot of stuff to unload. We made our way to the front desk to check in. The clerk made a comment that we were a little close to the elevator, but I didn't mind and she didn't seem to have any other rooms available at the time. We went to our room to await our luggage. That took about 30 minutes and in the meantime, we were trying to set up for a conference and couldn't leave our room until our luggage arrived. We were in the West tower because we had concierge access. The first thing we noticed about the hotel room was that it was small and the bathroom was very small with almost no counter space. Two professional women sharing a room were going to have a tough time even leaving a hairbrush on the counter without it being in someone's way. The shelf over the back of the toilet helped a little but it is narrow and the giant kleenex box took up a lot of space. Oh well, we would have to deal with it for a few days. Knowing that we were going to need to shower once we set up for our event, I checked the towels. There were only three...in a double room, three bath towels. By then, the luggage arrived and we raced to go set up for our event. Upon our return, the turn down service staff knocked on our door so we were able to get more towels. Perfect timing. That evening, we checked out the concierge room snacks. The display was nice although the hot appetizer wasn't very interesting. No other issues until the next morning when I awoke to the sound of high heels clicking above my head. I wasn't sure what it was and didn't figure out that we were under the concierge room until later that night. Breakfast was fine in the lounge and we went about our day. That evening, we were working late and returned to our room around midnight. It sounded as though the floor in the lounge was being polished. It was very noisy. I finally fell asleep but it took a while. On Sunday morning, I woke up when someone dropped something and it sounded like it broke on the tile floor. I couldn't go back to sleep because I could hear the clicking of high heels on the floor. Eventually, we went to work for the day. We had a lunch break and decided to grab a bite in the hotel restaurant. My food was terrible. I ordered fajitas thinking they'd be grilled chicken and vegetables but not thinking they'd be in a pan full of grease. I sent it back but what came out was not really any better. I ate the tortillas, cheese and sour cream. Every day, at least once a day, I had to call and ask for more towels. I'm not sure how a hotel can expect two adults to share a room and not need more than one bath towel--and if a family of four was in the room. someone doesn't get a towel! We even hung our towels up so they wouldn't be taken, but every day--sometimes twice a day--they disappeared. What a waste of water! if you are going to have a sign that says leave your towels hanging up and we won't take them, then don't take them when we leave them hanging up. AND if you are going to take them, replace them! Don't assume the two towels we haven't used will be enough for the next day. At some point, I would have expected someone would have made a note to leave us extra towels. Given how many beautiful hotels we have in Chicago, I'm not sure I'd ever stay at this Hyatt again. I attend many events here throughout the year hosted by the Jewish community because of the kosher kitchen, but I'm not sure I'd stay the night again. There are too many other choices of high end, luxury hotels.
Our room was dirty when we arrived. Crumbs on the tables and hair in the bath tub. Not what I would expect from the Hyatt. We probably won't stay here again in the future. It was our first time at the Hyatt and last.
"Superb property, Good location & courteous staff!!"
I had an opportunity to stay in this hotel twice in the past two years. Both the times my experience was very good. The hotel is very close to the famous Navy Piere & bang opposite to the trump tower. It takes around 35 mins from the airport to reach this hotel, however it is quite accessible to get there as it is in the heart of the downtown. For tourists taking a downtown river ride is a must which is two minutes walking disctance from the hotel. The staff was well trained and humble to guide me to the room. The hotel also has some good amenities, cafes, restaurants which are worth exploring.
"Amazingly friendly and extra-ordinarily helpful"
We stayed over a weekend. EVERY staff person we interacted with was friendly and "above and beyond" helpful: front desk (provided early access to room and late checkout) maid, concierge restaurant staff ("Please let me cook something special for you!") and valet parking (bottles of very good, cold water as we hit the road for home).
Stayed here with the significant other for two nights while visiting Chicago. Easy check-in, great/friendly staff and clean hotel. The hotel is very big and was very busy during our stay. The hotel had a couple of bars and restaurants and was easy to navigate. The location of the hotel was amazing... blocks from the Navy Pier, Millennium Park, the Lakeshore and the Magnificent Mile. The rooms were clean, large and the TV had a wide variety of channels. The bathroom was large with a great shower. Will definitely stay here again. Got this hotel on hotwire for 80 dollars a night!!!!!
