The hotel rises along the distinctive Via Giulia, a street beloved of the Romans for its antiques dealers, churches and old noble palazzi, and for the delightful side streets that surround it such as via Del Pellegrino and via Dei Cappellari, still bearing their ancient Sampietrini paving stones.
Classy little hotel with excellent and very friendly service.Comment of R. Judith , United Kingdom the 2016-01-01
This is a great property. Best location in Rome. It is located along the Via Giulia just a short walk to the Vatican, all of the major tourist sites, and close to a host of great places to dine. The hotel backs up to the Tiber, a few steps away from the bus terminal, and of course a rock through from the Campo de Fiori. Hotel has a mulit-lingual staff, great roof garden bar and dinning area, free Wi-Fi. Having traveled to Rome for the past 25 years I can tell you this location is the absolute best location.
We stayed here for a long weekend celebrating my girlfriends birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect. The planning by Roberto and the concierge team upfront to arrange the taxi, champagne and rose petals on arrival was exemplary especially as our travel plans changed with us having to arrive a day earlier than expected. All taken in their stride and organised with the minimum of fuss. A complimentary massage in the spa was an especially nice touch. Boutique hotels like this pride themselves on the personal touch and this one doesn't disappoint. All the staff seemed genuinely pleased to be there and went out of their way to help. Yes the prices are top end for this segment of the hotel market but personally it was worth every penny. The design ideas in the bedrooms were unique - we stayed in room 505 which had a car theme - and we also had a large balcony which made relaxing with a drink at the end of the day all the more enjoyable looking over the rooftops of Rome after a long day's sightseeing. Breakfast had a great selection of very healthy items and not-so-healthy too. The hotel is bang smack in the middle of all the major attractions so we didn't end up using the metro or buses all weekend. Thanks to everyone at the hotel who made our stay a really memorable one.
"The best neighborhood in Rome"
This was our first time in Rome, but from spending 5 days seeing the city, this hotel is the perfect spot to stay in Rome. It is an easy walk to the Vatican, Tresteverde, Tevi fountain and ancient Rome. The neighborhood is filled with great small shops and restaurants. The hotel is small and the service is excellent. We had breakfast included, which is a great spread of all kinds of food. Our room on the 5th floor included a balcony, which made up for the relatively small rooms. We will stay here every time we come to Rome.
"Great hotel but beware status holders!"
This is a great hotel in a great location in Rome, although in my view a bit overpriced. Rooms are a bit small again for a buck you pay. Every nice area or attraction of Rome is literally is walking distance so this is very very convenient. We did not take taxi/public transport once. We have booked superior room, no upgrades given despite spire elite status. They did not even allow for late check out despite clearly having empty rooms.... Breakfast is impeccable, variety huge, quality and service impeccable. Would probably not stay again due to the fact that the property is clearly overpriced.
"Perfect stay in Rome"
We loved staying at Hotel Indigo St. George! The location was fantastic: on a beautiful, quiet, peaceful and classy street by the river and within walking distance to many attractions and fabulous restaurants. Our room was quite spacious and provided all the amenities we needed. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was lavish and our meals for lunch and dinner were delicious and very satisfying. We were touched by the exceptional warmth and friendliness of the staff. Many heartfelt thanks to Roberto and James who made every effort to make our stay special! We will surely be back!
