"Perfectly modern hotel located in the heart of the Gas Lamp District!"
This hotel is located near PetCo Park and in the heart of the Gas Lamp district. You can easily walk to the U.S. Midway, shopping at the Horton Plaza Mall, PetCo Park, the Sea Port Village, and all of the restaurants and bars in Gas Lamp! I loved the modern feel of these rooms as they had hardwood floors, modern bathroom features, and were beautifully decorated! This hotel also had a rooftop bar and lounge which overlooked PetCo Park. It was a great price for an awesome hotel!
Stayed there 5 nights (10/16). Good location close to Petco Park and numerous restaurants/shops. It was a very clean room and we felt comfortable sleeping there. I liked the Aveda travel products offered in bathroom. Although they had a Keurig in the room, I would have preferred complimentary coffee in the lobby instead. 9th floor bar had cool fire pit style coffee tables, with a nice view. We stayed in 5th floor which was quiet each night. All employees were very courteous. No major issues while staying there.
"A great boutique hotel near San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter!"
I stayed here for four nights to attend a three-day convention at the San Diego Convention Center. The location was ideal as it was within short driving distance of the San Diego International Airport and the famous San Diego Zoo. It was also within walking distance of Petco Park, the aforementioned Convention Center and of course, the Gaslamp Quarter district. Despite being a modern 4-star, it was very affordable for a solo visitor of the city. My room was already ready by the time I reached the hotel at 12 p.m. local time, which was greatly appreciated (Especially after hours and hours flying across the country). I booked the "Standard Room" with one King bed. I was placed on the top floor (The hotel is 12 floors high). I didn't really interact with the hotel staff save for checking-in and checking-out, which is a compliment to the hotel as I experienced no significant problems during my stay. The front desk staff were polite and courteous as one would expect from a 4-star hotel. The room itself was quite big, with plenty of room to walk around, along with a clean, spacious bathroom and large walk-in shower (No bathtub for this particular room). The water pressure wasn't the strongest as to be expected in California and its ongoing water issues, but it was fine. The central air conditioner worked as advertised, going down to a cool 68 degrees Fahrenheit (Or 20 degrees Celsius), which was a godsend as the city was quite warm even in early October. On a random note, I would advise against the $5 bottled water provided on the room's desk as there's a CVS Pharmacy minutes away, for cheap water and other drinks. The ice machine and soda machine were at the end of the floor (In case you care about those amenities being central on the floor). The hotel lobby was also pretty spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating and tons of natural light. Right beside the lobby was the hotel's restaurant bar, which got decently busy in the mornings. I only ate there one day for breakfast. I'm not a foodie by any stretch of the imagination, so I liked the meal just fine. A little dry, but tasty all the same. I have no complaints about the breakfast menu or the service. During my stay, I only had a couple of minor issues. They were so minor that I considered not mentioning them in this review. But for honesty's sake: 1) The complementary Wi-Fi internet was fine and worked on all my devices. There was occasional slowdown and connection drops, but for the most part, video streaming (Netflix, Crunchyroll and Twitch TV) was acceptable. 2) The faucet in the bathroom had a leak. Anytime I would turn on the water, it would spray water over the left side of the bathroom counter (If any hotel staff are reading this, it was the faucet in room 1223). Regardless of those problems, I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Indigo San Diego Gaslamp Quarter (Long name!) for an affordable, clean and comfortable boutique hotel. There is plenty of entertainment nearby and so many different restaurants to choose from. I definitely would not hesitate to book again should I ever be in the area.
"Great place in a great location!"
I picked this hotel because I am an IGH member and it was located in the area I wanted to spend time at the end of my holiday in southern California. It was within walking distance of Seaport Village, the Gaslamp Quarter, and the amenities of the harbour front. The hotel itself was great, too. The room was very comfortable and the décor and design were quite stylish and current. There was one glitch - cleanliness of one of the duvet covers - and they fixed it in less than 10 minutes, with no problems. Obviously, it would be better not to have had the problem to begin with, but for me, the true test of customer service isn't about if there IS a problem, but how it's solved. They were fabulous and I really appreciated it. :) The staff were wonderful, friendly, and very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
"In the heart of it all and dog friendly"
This is a nice hotel in the center of gaslamp. Staff is very friendly and professional, I even brought my dog to spend the night for our girls weekend, everyone was happy with our standard room. I came back to the same hotel with my boyfriend and we were lucky enough to book a beautiful suite over looking Petco park, the convention center and gaslamp nightlife. Great location, nice hotel.
