Excelente servicio y atencion del personal. Te hacen sentir muy comodo.Comment of M. Maria Jose , Spain the 2016-12-05
Very good value, but would expect a 5-star hotel to have a decent selection of international newspapers available (in several languages) and a broader range of TV channels.Comment of W. Jonathan, United Kingdom the 2015-03-26
"Old Style Hotel"
Definitely pluses and minuses with this hotel. We drove in and had a tough time finding the property. Miguel was great helping us with the car and we enjoyed a welcome drink while we checked in. The lobby is very old World and nice to sit in and relax. The breakfast was great with many choices in a lovely dining room. The elevator is old style but seemed to be in good working order. Shout out to Isabel and Padro.
"This is not a five star property"
I had expected there would be adequate internet access in a 5 star hotel. Internet access was intermittent at best. The bathroom was extremely cramped and the shower system was almost impossible to operate. The provided towelling gowns were not replaced despite being wet and left out for replacement. The front desk were less than helpful.
"Lovely boutique hotel"
Ok this isn't a five star hotel. It's old and many elements of the hotel need renovating. But the staff are very friendly. Offered a class of port on arrival which was great. The hotel manager we met was also friendly, kind and professional. We made a complaint about some noise and they were very apologetic and did everything to rectify the issue. Carlos the manager was amazing. The breakfast offers a lovely selection of fresh produce. The room is large and housekeeping is excellent. I love the lounge areas which are very calm and pretty. Theres a free safe in the room and robes as standard. The hotel location is great for getting around and near to the train station. Lots of amazing places to eat nearby. If coming to Porto this hotel ticks a lot of boxes. It's the people who work in this hotel that makes it worth staying in. There it's greatest asset!
"A charm of old days"
Rooms are very nicely decorated, beautiful linen, changed every day. Throughout the hotel de decoration neo- baroque, gorgeous chandeliers. Very good breakfast. The location couldn’t be better to visit historic centre.
Lovely vintage-styled hotel with wonderful modern lobby - we were greeted with a glass of port which was a nice touch. Had issues with our initial room not smelling too good, but we were promptly moved to one sans-smell. It's older for sure - the aircon, window fittings and furniture - but has been renovated in a way that works. Would maybe appreciate more mod cons. Good location, but at the top of the hill so be prepared to stroll down (and back up) to the waterfront.
