"not up to Intercontinental standard"
Stayed 3 nights on a business trip and overall found the hotel underwhelming. The reception area looked disorganized, with papers flying around and messy desk, and did not give the impression of a 5-star hotel. The gym is tiny and unusable - there's not even a treadmill. There was a "toy" iron in the room, completely useless for ironing shirts (IC - please note, a proper iron, with steam, is very important in a business hotel). WiFi wasn't working properly (there was a note they were working on it, though). Room was small, dark and generally disappointing (despite an upgrade due to Ambassador status). Overall, the hotel reminded me more of a Holiday Inn Express quality with some InterContinental furniture. On the plus side, I found the restaurant to be very good - dinner there was delicious. And last but not least, the staff was super, super friendly and helpful. This is not enough, however, and I will be staying elsewhere during my next business trip to Paris.
"A very good Stay in an Excellent location"
I was booked by my business partner at this hotel for 2 nights and whilst the rooms are not in keeping with what you would expect from the Inter-Continental brand (rather small and basic in amenities) certainly nothing luxurious, I had a very comfortable stay and the Front Desk staff was kind and helpful. I cannot say the same about the breakfast room which was more a self service venue than anything else. But great location!
We have just returned from our 3 day stay at the Intercontinental in Avenue Marceau. The whole experience was amazing. I emailed in advance to the hotel and requested a quiet room and upon arrival we were told we had been appointed a high level room not facing the road - which was fantastic. The check in staff were extremely friendly, helpful and professional and made us feel both welcome and relaxed. We arrived at 12 noon, expecting just to drop our bags and then return to check in at 2pm, but the check in staff got us our room early! They showed us to a seat in the lobby, got us a coffee and 20 mins later we were checked in - really fantastic. The room itself is a little small granted, but the décor is pleasant, storage space is good and you have all of the little extras you would expect from Intercontinental. We also had a Nespresso in our room - which was an added bonus. The bed is so comfortable, pillows are soft and sheets and duvet is very cozy. I happened to mention in passing that we were celebrating a birthday in Paris (with no expectation - just general conversation) and we arrived back to the room on our first evening to a bottle of champagne, hand written birthday card and luxury macaroons waiting on us - simply the loveliest touch I have ever received in a hotel - and totally unexpected. I was already giving this hotel 5 stars and after that, I will I could award 10 stars - just brilliant. I cannot thank the hotel staff enough for making a birthday weekend such a special and memorable one. I would highly encourage anyone thinking about staying here to book without delay. When we go back to Paris (either as a couple or myself with work) we will not hesitate to stay here again - and we will be making the same recommendations to all of our friends. Fantastic service really does make all the difference and we left two very happy travellers.
"Very good location, extremely helpful staff"
The hotel has c. 50 rooms, so will book quickly. I asked for a patio side room, which will be quieter than main road (Avenue Marceau) side. The staff is extremely friendly. Special thank you to Ugo on main desk, Helen at the concierge desk, and Night Manager Mohammad, who made my 6.5 hours plane delay more bearable.
Great Location, near to the most important landmarks such as the Triumph Arch, the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Elysées. The room was beautiful out of this world in fact, the scenery the food I would not know where to begin, beautiful memories. will be back in the very near future
