"The hotel staff is corrupt, they stole my money"
When I got out of the nightclub, I was tired, stopped at the Intercontinental Hotel to take a room and rest a few hours with my friend. The Night Manager of the hotel told me that he has the last room at the price of 350€ and he must leave a guarantee of € 50 for extras, I agreed. I gave 450 € in cash (400 € for the room and 50 € as tips). When I arrived in the room, the room was dirty for a 5 star hotel (you might say it did not clean up after the previous guest's departure), but I had no choice. I checked in at 4am and left the room at 10.30am. When checking in, the receptionist gave me my invoice, I was amazed to find that the room was charged at only 150€. I claim the refund of 250€ but I was only paid the 50€ of the deposit. I met the hotel manager Mr Mathew, who asked me to complain at the police if I wanted to take my money back (it's a 5 star treatment). The manager knowing that I was leaving in two days, blackmailed me, instead of confronting me with his Night Manager !!! Instead of preserving the image of the Intercontinental Hotel, the manager wants to dirty it. Okay, I'll be back in a few weeks for my business, and I will follow the advice of the hotel manager by filing a complaint at the police against the hotel and its staff, to view the camera recordings, and to claim damages and interest from the hotel, then I will send this complaint to the company IHG to transfer these persons corrupt. "Well located off Champs Élysées"
Nice Intercontinental boutique hotel , very well located off champs élysées. Overall attentive and serviceable staff, good restaurant. Rooms are on the small side but nicely designed and comfortable. On the minus side : plumbing needs redoing as shower pressure is minimal. Housekkeping is not up to five star level however and needs to be more professional.
We stayed 2 nights at The Intercontinental. The hotel is beautiful and in a perfect location. There are so many restaurants and shops to visit within walking distance. Tour bus stops are just a few blocks walk as well. The arch and Eiffel Tower are visible within a short walking distance. The staff at the hotel gave good restaurant recommendations and were very friendly. Just down the street is a market with sandwiches, pastries, groceries, and items you might find at your local Walgreens in the U.S. The only thing I wasn't excited about was the size of the room. So tiny! But we spent so little time in the room it really didn't matter. The bed was comfortable. Can't wait to go back!
"not up to Intercontinental standard"
Stayed 3 nights on a business trip and overall found the hotel underwhelming. The reception area looked disorganized, with papers flying around and messy desk, and did not give the impression of a 5-star hotel. The gym is tiny and unusable - there's not even a treadmill. There was a "toy" iron in the room, completely useless for ironing shirts (IC - please note, a proper iron, with steam, is very important in a business hotel). WiFi wasn't working properly (there was a note they were working on it, though). Room was small, dark and generally disappointing (despite an upgrade due to Ambassador status). Overall, the hotel reminded me more of a Holiday Inn Express quality with some InterContinental furniture. On the plus side, I found the restaurant to be very good - dinner there was delicious. And last but not least, the staff was super, super friendly and helpful. This is not enough, however, and I will be staying elsewhere during my next business trip to Paris.
"A very good Stay in an Excellent location"
I was booked by my business partner at this hotel for 2 nights and whilst the rooms are not in keeping with what you would expect from the Inter-Continental brand (rather small and basic in amenities) certainly nothing luxurious, I had a very comfortable stay and the Front Desk staff was kind and helpful. I cannot say the same about the breakfast room which was more a self service venue than anything else. But great location!
