"Impressive on the outside, fairly basic on the inside"
Stayed for 3 nights. Good value as I got a deal at around 1.100 CZK per night. Standard rate of over 3.000 CZK p/n is way too much imho. At that price nearby Diplomat would be a far better deal. Little is left of the splendour when Crowne Plaza ran the hotel. The furniture and the bed are still the same, but duvet and pillows have changed to the extremely thin Czech variant. Check-in was pleasant, friendly staff. No amenities in the room/bathroom. Not even a bottle of water, which was a shame given the dry and hot air in the room. Had to open the window at night to breathe. It was -10 outside. Even with 2 duvets that was challenging. Breakfast buffet was very basic. Coffee was hideous. Staff were a bit disorganised. Tram stop close by, with a direct connection to the city center of about 20 minutes. Some restaurants down the street.
"Impressive building near Prague city centre"
Very large and impressive looking building, the inside did not let this down at all. Very freindly and helpful staff, who really could not do enough for us. The restaurant food was of a very good quality and very reasonably priced for a capital city hotel. Our room was large and had all creature comforts, very cosy considering the temperature outside. Breakfast was not so good, but you will be able to find something to eat. The hotel is a little out of the city, but this is not a problem due to the excellent and cost effective public transport system (310 K for 72 hours unlimited use about £10). There is a bus/tram stop outside the hotel, which are every few minutes and will get you to the city centre in around 15 minutes. You are also very close to a link to the airport so all in location was not an issue to us. Would recommend this hotel for a trip to Prague. Thank you.
"Not so accessible..."
The hotel is located outside the city. It is not walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants except that there's a bar and a souvenir shop inside this hotel, a chicken restaurant few meters from the hotel and a tram stop, also a few meters away from the hotel. Breakfast food is okay. It is not so great but not bad at all, too. Rooms are big, old but clean. There's a tendency for the rooms to be too hot because of the heater. There are 2 heaters located at the back of the curtains. Just adjust it. I love that they have wi-fi both in the lobby and inside their rooms.
"Not a good experience"
I had a 2 nights stay at Hotel International Prague. The exterior looking for the hotel was very impressive and amazed. The lobby area is also very impressive. However, the check in was slow and the staff weren't friendly. I stayed at the 6th floor. The room was very dim and the bed and wardrobe were wooden but old. You need to open the window in order not to feel stuffy and hot. The room is iinstalled with yellow lighting, the only place where you can find white light is in the bathroom. There is no amenities such as toothbrush and tooth paste provided. I actually went to the reception to request for toothbrush and toothpaste, but i was told to buy it from nearby grocery shop. During my 1st night stay, it was the Christmas eve, i found that the pillow was too soft, even piling up 2 makes no difference. I called the housekeeping and they said that it is Christmas Eve and no one is working thus nobody can send to me additional pillow . Thus i have to sleep with the current 2 very soft and flat pillows. During the morning of Christmas Day, i called Housekeeping again to request for pillow, and they agreed to send, but they did not send. Thus, i have to go to the reception to request for pillow, the receptionist (a guy) jot down my room number and details and promised that someone will send to me in the afternoon, and in the afternoon upon return from my shopping, i still dont see the pillow, thus, i have to go down to reception again to make another request, then only someone send another pillow to my room after dinner time. Another issue is the carpet along the corridor was smelly. The corridor was also very dim, though it was installed with white lights. This hotel is located at praha 6 and it is far from city center. You will need tram, bus or taxi to go to City Center. Another comment is there is not much variety on the buffet breakfast line. If you want to go for buffet breakfast, be there earlier, as the place will be crowded with no seats after 7am.
In this hotel my family spent four nights. Luxurious hotel offering high class service. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Internet connection was for free. Personnel very accommodating and helpful. Tram stop is right in front of hotel and hotel taxi to get to downtown was fairly cheap. We are recommending highly this hotel.
