The hotel is bit out of the city but not so far. Trams run in front of the hotel. There's a big supermarket within walking distance. It is old and classical but well kept clean. It was comfortable to stay. The room was tiny and clean. I relaxed with hot bath. I was nervous about making sound because I heard the sound from next door easily. Totally the price was very reasonable and it's worth staying.
"Great Choice, Very Friendly, Satisfying Breakfast!"
We spent the first weekend of November in Prague, flying from Frankfurt. This hotel was easy to get to from the Airport per public transport(35 minutes), and the cost was minor (310 Krone public transport ticket purchased at the airport that was good for 72 hours for all of Prague). The Tram stop is about 75 meters from the hotel and will take you into the city quickly as well. I have been to this city many times and found the location of the hotel to be very good. We were celebrating a special occasion and when I wrote the hotel to mention I would like a specific room, they gave me a free upgrade to room 715. The room was normal size, nicely decorated, neat, and we never had to wait long at all to get on the elevator to and from the 7th floor. The staff was friendly, quick and quite helpful, explaining the hotel, transportation and so on. Change money at the hotel. It is a better rate than the airport. Also, pay in cash or with a card at restaurants in the city. The exchange rate was good to very good, again, much better than the airport. There are 3 points why I give this hotel a 4 instead of a 5 star rating. First although our room appeared quite clean, we found an old candy wrapper under the bed and a little dirt on the floor under the sink, which was not removed by room service during our stay. Second, although breakfast was very good, we arrived 45 minutes before the end of breakfast time and the bread was long gone. When I asked for it to be refilled, only some pre-frozen looking rolls were dumped into a basket, but no loaves of bread where put out. This was disappointing. Lastly, the drinks at the bar were quite expensive and therefor, the guy playing piano (which was really enjoyable), had a very small audience (maybe 10 people in a hotel that offers 278 rooms). Lower prices, add some snack, and have a bartender who is happy to be busy and make some extra money in tips. All in all, I would book this hotel immediately when returning to Prague. Great hotel, great price!!
"Superb - go here! "
Got to hotel and was upgraded to a suite for free. Breakfast was lovely. Rooms spotless and very roomy. Public transport right outside. Lovely hotel - very grand. Would certainly recommend. Staff very friendly.
"A Nice Stay"
I was a little worried about this hotel based on previous reviews, and although it has some minor flaws, overall it was a great stay for 4 days. First, the room was fine, no real issues. It was quiet, and comfortable. It has a small refrigerator. The internet worked fine. The breakfast was really great and so was the lunch. I parked at the hotel and walked to the metro just about 10 min away. It was an easy ride to downtown, to the castle, and the clock tower. Yes, there were lots of tourists, but the hotel never felt crowded, even at breakfast. I did have a chance to go to the roof and it was a very nice view. The only suggestion that I would have is to have metro tickets available at the front desk since it is somewhat difficult to buy passes without having a pocket full of coins.
Stayed a week at the International. Their breakfast is sumptuous and they have great spread. The cakes and pastries are absolutely delicious. Also on the menu are pork sausages, Bohemian sausages, bacon, beans, rice, and bread like no other. Rooms were of good size and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean and roomy too. Room overlooked the garden and the myriad colours of fall made it gorgeous. The most friendly man in the Czech republic 'Phil" received us at the reception and was extremely helpful.
