"Brilliant choice based on Tripadvisor recommendations"
Simply outstanding and certainly 5*. Our 4 night stay was thoroughly enjoyable. Very helpful and professional staff - very good standards in every aspect. Not sure how anyone could be negative about the hotel. Restaurant perhaps lets it down as its not used enough and feels lacking in atmosphere but food and drink we had were excellent. Hopefully they can improve the restaurant once the new marina opposite is open - should be upstairs with a view of marina rather than onto street level. We would recommend this hotel to everyone
Saw some of the other negative reviews about Kazbek and really they could have been writing about a different hotel to the one we stayed in. Found the staff very helpful indeed, always friendly and smiling. The reception is small and usually only manned by one person but there again the hotel is small. It is charming. We had to change rooms mid week (our fault, nothing to do with the hotel) and the staff could not have been more helpful. There were one or two issues. The zircon units are very old and noisy but in September they were necessary. It did seem rather difficult to adjust the temperature to a suitable ambient. Beds comfortable, peaceful location, but it is a short bus ride to the Old city and that bus ride can be a bit eventful. There are major construction works going on outside, building a marina, but, to be fair, this is outside the hotel's control. We found the place charming and would go again. The advice from the front desk and the help with booking restaurants was perfect.
"Lovely start to our holiday"
When we planned the few days in Dubrovnik we thought we wanted to stay in the old town itself. Long story, but we ended up here, a few miles out, and what a fantastic stroke of luck that was! The location was ideal, on a bus route and easy enough to walk into town or to the docks for excursions to other islands. We found all the staff very helpful, the breakfast more than sufficient and the rooms very pleasant. I admit, I do have a soft spot for an evening turn-down service, and the plate of cookies upon arrival was very welcome. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return.
"An outstanding experience, this hotel deserves its 5-star rating"
My wife and I spent 4 nights at this 5-star hotel and it truly deserves its 5-star rating. The property is quiet, despite its being located on the rather busy waterfront road at the Gruz Port, some 3 kilometers outside the old town. There is a lovely, secluded courtyard maybe 20 meters deep that separates the hotel buildings from the access road and this provides an area where one can enjoy a leisurely breakfast - and the breakfast is REALLY excellent. The pool area is seclude, totally private and really delightful. The service from the staff could not be more personal and they went out of their way to suggest good restaurants and tours. The rooms were immaculately clean and beutifully furnished. We did not try the restaurant for dinner so cannot comment there, but overall would rate this as one of the best hotels we have stayed at and we certainy will return.
We just completed a wonderful stay at the Hotel Kazbek. The staff was superb especially Jovica at the front desk. Helpful, courteous and efficient. The room was great as was the wonderful breakfast. Also had 2 lunches that also we wonderful. The grounds and the swimming pool are also terrific
