Nestled in the historical centre of Montepulciano, Locanda di San Francesco is a beautiful private house set in a recently restored fourteenth century palace, with breathtaking views to one of the most beautiful squares in town, Piazza San Francesco, and the valleys of Orcia and Chiana.
The unique atmosphere of La Locanda is created by the antique furnishings, the exclusivity of just four rooms and the incomparable position at the sunniest and highest point of the town, ensuring light-filled rooms even on winter days.
“La stanza segreta”, discovered during restoration, is a cosy evocative sitting room with views onto the Val D'Orcia and two stone walls that once formed part of the bell tower of the Church of San Francesco.
In the morning, the hotel serves a copious breakfast in a large cross-vaulted lounge on the ground floor with a rich library and wide selection of movies.
