"Great location but a little disappointed with the size of the room"
I would have given five stars if the room had of been larger, other than that I couldn't fault it. Yes at £250 a night it isn't cheap but then it is 20 yards from the slope and you are on the middle of a ski resort so no surprise. Room was nicely finished. Plenty of towels etc.. which were changed twice a day if the turndown service can get in later. Pool and sauna good (we went out of school holidays). Breakfast great with lots of choice. WiFi has decent bandwidth and coverage (oddly I couldn't get data when on the slopes (via data roaming), not sure if this is my phone or a lack of data capability. Unlike some ski resorts I didn't find WiFi in any of the mountain stops. The hire shop in the basement of the hotel was very convenient but not the cheapest. The guys in there are great. I had some boots that were rubbing and they swapped them a few times to get the right ones. The also do a wax and grind overnight for 35Euro.. Boot room (with warmers) was part of the hire shop. It's not huge so guess it could get a little busy at peak times. We also arrive in a mini bus and the hotel parked it away for us (under the hotel).
"Can't fault it !!!!"
I found this amazing Hotel through researching Tripadvisor, and I honestly cannot fault it !!!! Firstly Val D'Isere is such an amazing resort, that delivers on so many levels. So to find a hotel that accommodated our every need, was amazing. The location is super central, 50m to the slopes and a right near the main street. But the road is quiet so there is no noise from the street at night. We were welcomed by a hospitable team at reception, and this services continued throughout our stay !!!! A special mention of the wonderfully smiley lady who welcomed everyone to the breakfast room, sadly I did not get her name !!! The guys in the boot room/shop downstairs were amazing too, and particulary sweet with my young sons. Breakfast's were delicious, the bar in the evening was great. Maybe a small suggestion would be to offer some pizzas or perhaps a few kiddie friendly meals for early casual supper. Housekeeping staff were also super friendly and we so enjoyed the tidy up twice a day, of fresh towels, and with the little treats left on our pillow !!! Also want to mention that the shower gel/shampoo etc smelt amazing, and a separate range was supplied for my kids - loved the attention to detail. Our beds were super comfortable and room temperature was just perfect. So yes.... I am one happy and satisfied customer !! Well done !!!!!
"A lovely hotel with great staff but a few let downs.."
This hotel is not cheap - you are looking at 350 euros ++ a night during ski season which is prob well worth it, if everything is working well...! Positives - Generally excellent staff, helpful, friendly and very busy (they are worked pretty hard) but do their best for customers and as such their attitude is to be commended. Breakfast very nice, good choice but extra Euro charge for porridge/omelette is silly and annoys people. Get rid of it management! Pool very pretty but since hotel had a lot of children it wasn't very spa like so didn't really use it as a place one can chill out! Location great: boot room exit just next to slope and lifts and near all restaurants and shops etc. Upkeep is good and we enjoyed the general decor surroundings - it was modern but warm and to our taste. Negatives - No hot water one eve (not acceptable) in hindsight I should have asked for a night's refund since this is a basic that you would expect even from a 2 star hotel especially when on a skiing holiday! Sauna quite cool and steam room didn't work the evening I went. Ski and boot room rather chaotic as not enough boot warmers for guests sometimes but staff did their best and skis brought out promptly. Tip-preorder from inter-sport and collect from them over the road on the slope - it took us a grand total of 5 mins to pick up our skis and bring them back to the hotel whereas hotel guests using the hotel ski shop were waiting 30 mins just to get seen for fitting as very busy. Lift broke down one day which was rather annoying! All in all due to the technical issues I would probably try another 4 or 5 star property next time but I loved the area and would def come back for the skiing and the beauty of the resort.
"great place for a family (or any other) stay"
wonderful friendly helpful staff from reception to the bar to the ski shop. good ski service at reasonable price and good quality skis hired. not sure boots were kept all that warm over night though. nice open bar and reception area with modern art, open fire, a kids play room. super breakfast. superb location - 50m from the lifts. highly recommended.
"Top Hotel in great location in Val D'Isere"
Fab hotel situated centrally in Val D'Isere and only 3 mins to the slopes. Great staff who looked after us with a smile. Breakfast had every option for all. Rooms was very nice and we were able to split into 2 rooms, one for adults & other for the kids. Highly recommend staying here.
