"Great hotel away from the tourists of Dubrovnik"
It's a short cab ride to the old city and a nice escape from the craziness of Dubrovnik's old center. It's right on the water of the bay and in walking distance of Dubrovnik Yacht Club Orsan where the food is fabulous. Lapad's breakfast is fabulous, the dinner we had there was excellent and the service is excellent. I brought 9 people there and everyone was happy with the location. Being on the bay/harbor we were able to arrange for a boat to pick us up at the pier across the street from the hotel and we sailed through the bay to the old city's harbor and got off and walked straight to our restaurant on the old city wall. Really spectacular! A standard double room with partial view doesn't give you a lot of room between the desk and the bed so you have to watch your shins. Other than that, it's a great place!
"Food and location"
Half board was a fall back as such a cheap option but good was so good ended up eating most nights. Directly on bus routes for rest of Dubrovnik so access very easy. Peppers restraint 2 mins away does the best milkshakes and frozen cocktails I have ever had. I just hope they Finnish the mariner pontoons outside the front gate soon.
I stayed at this hotel from 22 October for a week. It was a lovely hotel, rooms were lovely, bathrooms clean, and the breakfasts were good too - I am quite a fussy veggie and managed to have something different every day. It is very handy for thebus station for trips to Cavtat and Ston, and the harbour although the ferries were not running as it is now off season
"Lovely Hotel, great staff and good food"
We visited for 1 week from 20 10 16. The hotel is made up of two buildings with a conference centre just off the road and the main hotel behind. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautifully clean, crockery and glasses in rooms are changed daily. The hotel arranged a special gift for my husband for his birthday. We used the local buses which take you into the old town of Dubrovnik. They are clean and tidy but a bit packed. The city bus tickets are purchased at reception or at little kiosks. Beware the town bus does not use these tickets so you will have to pay. All the Croatian people we met were lovely and made us feel welcome. The hotel is set on a port and there is some work underway to add a new marina but it is very quiet. The town is a 10-15 minute walk and there are a number of shops which are not at all touristy. The hotels is placed around several restaurants and we tried Peppers which was lovely. The restaurant in the hotel is great and you can choose to have a buffet meal at breakfast or main meal. They also offer an ala carte menu in the evening and there is food available in the pool bar. We always found something we liked to eat from the buffet. The only thing I missed was having a decent cup of tea - they tried but it just didn't work.
We had a wonderful 4 night break in Hotel Lapad, in a side sea view room with good views of the ferry/cruise ship port and marina. Very interesting to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by! We were impressed with the hotel from the moment we pulled up outside it in the taxi until the minute we left. Our room was clean, bright and comfortable with plenty of hanging space and drawers for clothes. The bathroom was super-clean, really nice toiletries and a great shower. Breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable in the pleasant dining room with friendly staff - indeed all of the staff we came across in the hotel were welcoming and helpful. We dined out in the evenings in a really nice restaurant only about 200m to the right of the hotel, but on the evening we went home we ate in the hotel's Pool Bar and were more than impressed with what we had. Delicious and beautifully presented! As with many other people who have posted reviews previously, we took the No. 6 bus into Dubrovnik from just beside the hotel, and also walked into the old town and back too. I don't know if we'd like to do the walk too often in the heat of the summer, though, but perhaps with a number of stops on the way it would be ok! We took the No10 bus to Cavtat one day - this goes from the road over the water near the ferry/cruise ships. Really recommended - Cavtat is beautiful. Also recommended are trips to Mostar and Montenegro. To sum up - a great hotel in an interesting location, near enough to the beautiful old town of Dubrovnik, but far away from the crowds. I'd love to go back!
