"How Travel Triangle and Bonton Holidays cheated us !!!"
We had traveled to Mauritius from 04 Oct to 10 Oct, 2016. The bookings were done through a subsidiary of Travel Triangle namely Bonton Holidays. Whatever was promised to us while booking the package, nothing was as per the promise. Bonton Holidays had passed on the booking to Akqua Sun. Akqua Sun refused to honour any of the proises made by Bonton Holidays. We were told that we program things as per our convenience and not Bonton !!! Coach provided was really bad. We lost out on some of the direct bookings that we did e.g. walk with lion etc. because the program given to us from India was not adhered to. Akqua Sun representative at Mauritius namely Uttam was very rude and was not ready to listen to our problems. He never honoured his own word . It was a total waste of time. There was no one to receive us at the Airport. We had to call up the hotel and they guided us to visit a counter of the operator !!! With small children in the family accompanying us, it was a horrible experience. One should not rely on the tour operators like Travel Triangle and Bonton Holidays. At the time of our need, none of them were not available on the phone. After coming back, when we tried calling the Head Offfice at Mumbai, no one was ready to talk to us. Every time the operator came on line and the call was never picked by the concerned person namely Ms. Namrata. Having paid full money advance, believe me, there was no one to support any querry or solve any problem. It is always better to do all booking on your own. For Hotel booking also we were charged double the amount as compared to what Hotel charges. Hotel authorities said that we can not help as we have to give a huge commission to the tour operator !!! Most of our efforts to connect with the tour operator was in vain during our vacation as well as after coming back to India. Be very cautious before booking any package with Bonton Holidays or through Travel Triangle.
"Fabulous 2nd visit!! A 70th Birthday spent being pampered - wonderful."
Back home just over a week now and already missing Le Meridien Ile Maurice. After a very long flight (12 hours direct) we were met at the airport by our transfer driver and within the hour we were at the hotel. Very impressed with the service from Mauritours. We where in the Nirvana adults only section, 1st floor. The room was cleaned to a high standard by our maid Lillah, I do miss our little chats. Water was plentiful, Lillah would make sure we had water every day, and we loved the towel art - especially my husbands birthday display, it was wonderful - thank you. Our first visit was two years ago, and it hasn't change a bit - still perfect!! Many of the staff recognised us and we were made to feel at home. We ate all our meals at La Faya and enjoyed every one. The food was fabulous, we didn't visit the other restaurants, but have been told that both Shells and Cumin were very good. A huge "thank you" to all the staff at La Faya and the pool bar: Nitish, Sanjeev, Tarun, Ayish, Santy, Kamini, Kushap, Abhishek, Mauisha, Roshan an Vinesh. The training Nitish was given by Nicholas was outstanding - and it shows, and Nitish is passing that on to all his staff and we feel these guys will go far. Nothing is too much trouble, ask and you will get!! During the evenings we would go to the Bay View and really enjoyed listening to the Emotion Band with Ellie and JD - fantastic singers!!! The Sega dancing on a Wednesday night was very entertaining. As it has already been mentioned in other reviews, there is lots to do during day should you want to, we just wanted to relax and we certainly did that. We also met Mr Tonnac (GM) and told him what a wonderful time we were having and that all the staff are a credit to the hotel. So, I would like to thank each and everyone for making our holiday very, very special!! Would we return - in a heart beat.
"A holiday that will never be forgotten"
The hotel is amazing, The staff are very friendly and are always helpful. With 5 restaurants to choose from the menu never got boring. The beaches were always kept clean and had a range of activities to choose from. A special thanks to the management of the hotel for inviting us to a social evening where we could mingle with other guests as well as the management of the hotel.
"Grand hotel, massive, endless options"
Massive in size, beach front hotel, bit away from the village. They have the Meridien and Nirvana blocks on the same property. Grand layout. Lovely iconic jetty. Fantastic rooms, and friendly staff. Terrific and big pool. Lot of water sports (free) on offer, viz. water ski, paddle boat, abseil boat, kayak...Hotel also arranges many other activities like pool exercises, yoga. Swimming near the shore is difficult, quite rocky (the only let down). Cycle & scooter rental available on site. They have something that is quite unique - several exclusive staff with multiple activities purely for kids, viz. movies, play games, swimming, evening beach walk...And, yes, superb breakfast @ 180; there is even an exclusive Indian Pavilion for breakfast, serving up great Indian stuff like upma, poha, puri-bhaji...For dinner/lunch, many restaurants to choose from. Cumin Indian restaurant dinner buffet is around MUR 1500. Recommend to spend couple of days in this hotel; just let go, relief stress.
"Le Meridien is good but not great...."
Stayed here for 10 days on an all inclusive basis. On arrival after an extremely long journey we had been allocated a room in the main hotel and not in the Nirvana area as our booking stated. We were very tired so agreed to stay in the room one night..It was very clean and spacious but looked a bit tired especially the bathroom .The following day we were given the correct room but it meant that we only unpacked on day two of the holiday. After that all was quite lovely - Staff are extremely helpful and friendly especially those in La Faya restaurant .. The fabric of the hotel does however need upgrading in parts and the lobby bar and reception have the feel of a large airline hanger.Dress code also left a lot to be desired and was not enforced which was a shame The concept of sand on the floor of the Bayview bar was also v strange
