"le meridien hotel"
The hotel is impressive, very well maintained with beautiful views. The village is a bit small so there is not much to do there.howerver activities can be planned and organised, taxi is reasonably priced and there are plenty of boat trips. The hotel has decent free activities too. Rooms are spacious, housekeeping staff is helpful and friendly. You get an option of making a green choice, do for every day you do not require cleaning, you get a voucher of 5 euros. The half board package entitles you to eat in 4 restaurants-2 with a buffet and 2 a la carte. The food is average or even below. The shells restaurant offer a better choice but then the menu never change. The waiting staff is superb all around the hotel- Benjo and his team are very friendly and efficient
"Awesome Place to be in Mauritius"
One of the finest properties I have ever visited across the globe. This is a beautiful, calm, serene hotels with private beach, most of sea sports like snorkeling etc are free of cost included in your package. Excellent food served in their restaurant called Shell, prompt service, helpful staff.
"Awesome stay, Excellent"
Spent 7 nights here with breakfast & Dinner - hotel everything you need, there is also a small (slightly expensive) cafe down the road - bus stop also not far, costs a few rupees to catch a 45 minute bus ride to Grand Baie. Had quite a spacious family Room with 2 x queen beds + a sofa overlooking the ocean, room is modern however not very clean, you can notice the dirt on walls around the grouting especially in the bathroom but overall was great. Food is the best you have 4 restaurants to choose from daily with different menus - 2 are buffet, 2 are la Carte (choose a starter, main + desert) - water sports are all free except the inflatable boat ride. You just need to book down at the pool for snorkeling, glass bottom boat, kayak, wind surf, pedal boat, water ski all free. Hotel has free sauna, steam room & jacuzzi as well, spa treatments at an additional cost. They have a tennis court, kiddies play gym & activities for them everyday for a fee hours including a games room. All this hotel is missing is a shuttle bus service but taxi service is across the road & you can hire a car from hotel.
"Not up to Standard"
I normally stay at the Le Victoria next door and this time was put up here. The hotel itself has the facilities you need from a resort but lacks warmth, structure and cleanliness. The beach is relatively small, the internet is very slow and they don't seem to make and effort to help me, the food is mediocre (most I tasted are average, here were exceptions), the corridors are dirty - I called room service to collect my dishes in the evening and they r still there the morning - you walk down the corridor and there are dirty dishes everywhere - the staff don't seem happy to work there and hence the lack of welcome - it seems as if issues guests have are ignored - one other thing that really irritates us - the price of drinks - cocktails cost Rs420 (11eur/R160), more expensive than any resort I've stayed.
