In the heart of Nice, facing the Mediterranean Sea, the five star hotel is located 5 km from the international airport of Nice Côte d'Azur and halfway between Cannes and Monte Carlo.

"Sadly a Shadow of Former Glory"
Once a great hotel, it has become rather shabby, service not as it was and crowded with tourists from the beach. There are rather tatty outlet shops inside the hotel, I would rather remember the glorious days.

Superb hotel will definitely use it again the staff were very helpful and friendly the service was excellent benefits from being on the sea front and the room was very good bit pricey for the mini bar in the room and 11 euros for a bottle of lager in the main bar but the decor and the fixtures and fittings was worth it
"A sweet meeting with the charm of a classy institution"
Use to various modern hotel but staying also sometimes in more classic ageless hotel, i was looking on tripadvisor for some information regarding this hotel where i wanted to spend a weekend with my wife. I saw some very critical comments which made me a bit nervous as i arrived at Nice. While entering this building, the charm immediately overwhelmed me. Wonder-full place, half museum, half theater. Not everything is perfect, but just like for a distinguished and pleasant old women, it is not that important. Just enjoy. Friendly staff always willing to satisfy your need. Already took the decision in the airplane back home to come back next year at the same period. If you are booking the sea side, than book the highest floor you can as it is sometime noisy, especially in the evening. More detail on both restaurant Rotonde and Chantecler separately.
"Enjoyed our stay."
We had a lovely time, the position is perfect, staff are attentive are happy to help where possible. For management - On day of check out, we had staff knock on the door twice to find out what time we would be leaving... this was hours before our checkout time. We were still in bed when one lady knocked and then let herself in!
"Iconic landmark - definitely worth staying"
We did stay at the end of September, only for 1 night as a part of our Cote D'Azur trip and when deciding on which hotel to stay in Nice didn't have any doubts as Negresco is indeed the iconic hotel and we did never regret about our choice. From the time of arrival when we were greeted by doormen wearing famous Negresco uniform till the moment of departure we were feeling very special and staff did try their best to make stay of each guest a memorable one. At reception we were informed that as members of Leaders Club we are upgraded to Deluxe room with Sea view. In fact I they very convenient feature - when I asked which style this room will be (as rooms at the hotels are in designed in many different styles) I was offered to look at it at the screen - they do have nice pictures of ALL their rooms so that guests can immediately see and assess whether they like proposed room. I did check and di like our room, the only missing thing was absence of balcony which I in fact requested before arrival, to their credit after only few moments of checking they proposed us even higher category room (Junior Suite) with balcony, however after checking the style of that room was not to our likening and so we ended up with initially assigned room. It was room 426 on the 4th floor with direct sea view and small French balcony. It was decorated very nice Provencal style with walls covered with red flowers silk tapestries. Room was quite generous in size and bathroom was really huge and just recently renovated, with free standing bathtub. All amenities which you would expect from the luxury 5 star hotel were in place (one thing which though surprised me a bit is that both shower gel and shampoo were in dispensers - which is honestly quite strange for 5 star hotel, have to admit though that on top of this we did have a box with Oliva products incl soap, shampoo and shower gel. Very nice feature in the room was smart home control panel with big color display built-in the wall. Also as Leaders club members we did have some fruits and cookies on arrival as well as small present form the hotel - nice touch. Like said the room did have small French balcony with direct uninterrupted view of the Sea and Promenade Des Anglais. Hotel interiors are really something definitely worth separate visit as in fact it is a mixture of different styles with pieces of art from different époques on display, so everyone can find smth to his likening. Our wing was completely dedicated to Salvador Dali and corridor all the way long (as our room was almost at the end) was full of Dali original drawings and paintings - quite impressive. Hotel's elevator is another piece of art with huge automatic door and designed as luxurious old carriage inside, it also talks to you saying which floor it is. Words can't express the ultimate beauty of the place you just need to come, see and feel this very special atmosphere which is carefully maintained by the owners and the Team - really well done. Hotel doesn't have its own beach club - which honestly quite surprising for the hotel of such caliber situated right on the sea (they though propose to use the beach club nearby for a fee). We did have breakfast included in our rate so did try it - the breakfast place is magical - it is La Rotonde restaurant (open also for dinner) which is in fact designed as an 18th century carousel and its wooden horses make it a very unusual place. Breakfast itself though was nothing really spectacular. Don't take me wrong - it was good, with wide variety, however not exceptional and service was just ok, on the slow side and not the ideal service you would expect from the place like this. In the evening we did visit their famous wooden bar and did enjoy time there. On departure we were slightly unlucky as it was a wedding taking place and guest for whatever reason instead of being invited to the huge space around Royal lounge where the wedding dinner took place were all staying in the lobby area which is not that big to accommodate such amount of people. So hotel guests did have difficulties checking in and out. This though didn't spoil the general impression - it is really great place to stay and must visit to anyone searching for true luxury and a lot of history in the heart of beautiful Nice.
