"Friendly, but not 4 stars!"
We booked this hotel because we wanted to try a new area in Paris and it had excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. The hotel has very friendly and accomodating staff and it has a cosy, quiet feel and is close to Jardin to Luxembourg and Le Bon Marché. Sadly though, it falls short due to its quite low standard. Hotel rooms in Paris are small, so that was expected. But this one lacked all the amenities you expect from a 4 star hotel: bathrobes, a safe, a fridge/minibar, someway to make a cup of coffee or at least a tea kettle, an iron and an ironing board (or easy access to that in another form) etc. The toilet was also separate (without a wash basin) from the bathroom. Not so fun in the middle of the night! The whole room need to be updated as well and the sheets had holes in them. The breakfast was very sparse, although many French hotels have little less than this. If this had been a 3 star hotel, I think I would give it an OK, but I expected more. Sad because the staff is really friendly.
"Great location and magnificent staff"
Very friendly staff, the room is quite nice with all basics, nicely kept, clean, all supplies and with a Parisian feeling all the way. The staff is friendly and helpful. Location is just walk to shops, metros, and in a quiet street. I would go again and again.
What a wonderful place this is. You enter through a door which has the feel of a garden door. Then instead of the traditional 'reception desk' there is a sturdy work desk, surrounded by books, plants and other stuff, and a warm welcome by Veronique. There are comfy sites, and the breakfast room is in the cellar. The room I had was a larger one than the standard and very comfortable, nice furniture, comfortable bed, in all a very pleasant place to stay. Everyone was very friendly. Will definitely go back next time
"The big winner"
We stayed in five places over 13 nights in France and this hotel was our favorite. The price was very reasonable, so we were very surprised at how nicely updated everything was. We had two big windows looking over the street, so could get the nice breeze when we slept. Beautiful bedding - actual crisp sheets! Nice little sitting area off the lobby where you can have a drink. Great location. Really loved it.
"Classy and Quaint Boutique Hotel"
We stayed here for 3 nights and originally selected the hotel because it was close to our friends who lived around the corner. But regardless of the proximity, this little boutique hotel was a great find. The room was smallish but very comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast each morning in the hotel's quaint little basement room. The location was very convenient - just steps away from the metro stop (St.-Placide) with lots of restaurants and bakeries nearby. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the AC in our room worked really well (it was hot in Paris during our visit). We also liked being slightly off the main tourist route here in the St. Germaine area (and with the incredibly efficient Paris metro, everything was easy to get to). The only criticism is that there was no room safe, which we would have liked. Definitely worth checking out this hotel.
