" Awsome Place! But note for big people "
The Place is just awesome. Really nice rooms and very cool furniture. The people are very nice and and it's perfectly clean. We stayed for 7 nights. The breakfast is small but very good. Attention: if you are big this is not the right place for you. The rooms, stairs and halls are very narrow. So if you need lots of space to move, this is not the right place for you.
"Interesting Hotel More Exciting than Neccesary"
The hotel is located in Pigalle which has both its charms and its dangers. The hotel itself is well done if tiny and the staff was friendly and spoke reasonable English. The one bad thing and it's a big one. We were awoken at 2am to a woman screaming "Please Help Me" when we figured out it was coming from the hotel we went downstairs to the front desk who simply said that it was taken care of. Both me and my friend were shaken and confused by this.
"In the heart of Paris by night"
A very sweet hotel in the middle of Paris, good for business but also for wedding trip or just city trip. The rooms are charming and the breakfast area is amazin. The staff is amazing speak english (not common in France)
"Small but clean"
A small hotel just around the corner from moulin rouge. A fun and safe area with alot of pubs and streetlife. Very close to the metro station, easy train connections to go to arch de triomphe, champs elysees and the cemetery where the legend Jim Morrison is buried. The room was small so there were barely any floorspace left after we opened our suitcases. We could not hear any noise from the street and the hotel is really clean. A little downer was that all the water in the whole hotel stoped working and after an 8hour walk around the city, we were not very happy about it, but theese things can happen even to the best hotels, ofcourse. It worked properly they next morning tho. It's a good hotel and i do recomend it.
"Small but smart"
We booked our stay at Hotel Le Squara last minute, without any knowledge on Paris. All we knew is it was close to the Moulin Rouge. Indeed this tiny hotel is right around the corner from the Moulin Rouge. It's an easy 20-minute walk from Gare du Nord, but the walk is much easier in the early hours of the day before the shops open. The hotel could be easily missed if you didn't notice the two velvet ropes marking its entrance. Check-in was pleasant and efficient, and the front desk was always friendly with greeting you. They did note that if you came in after 11:00 p.m. you'd need to buzz in. We were there while the Euro Cup was on, and it was easy to see how the streets could get quite raucous. We had not problem with entering late at night, and we were on the 2nd floor, but heard no street noise even when there were cheering crowds of revellers. I absolutely loved our shower - rainshower head with a separate hand sprayer and easy to manage controls. I now want the same system for my own home. The toilet was a little high - I'm 5'1", and my toes wouldn't reach the floor when I sat on it. It sounds silly, but it was a bit of a drawback for comfort. As you'd expect in a hotel in an old building, the rooms are very compact, but the layout is efficient, and with our two suitcases we were fine. We didn't do our research ahead of time, so we weren't prepared for the neighbourhood we'd be in - the red light district. It was completely safe, but if you're picturing romance, this area has a much more XXX vibe. There were many nearby cafes and Irish pubs ('!), and even a Starbucks across the intersection, but to find something a little less commercial, I'd suggest walking uphill up the street from the hotel and exploring the many restaurants in the neighbourhood behind the main strip.
