"Sentiment Was Our First Reason of Choice"
Twenty plus years ago we first stayed at the Hotel Manoir Victoria. Quebec City was new to us, then. It proved ideally located in the heart of upper old town within the rampart walls. It was steps to great restaurants and shops. From the hotel it's and easy walk to almost anywhere in town. Morning or night it's a safe and clean location. Hotel Manoir Victoria is still the place to go if you're looking for well maintained old world charm and elegance. We had three separate rooms for our family and each was configured a little differently, but each came appointed with comfortable bedding and linens. All the bathrooms have been updated and the décor has become more modern and edgy with splashes of color lifting it into a new era. The onsite bistro and separate bar are still bustling with activity although we didn't opt to use them on this trip with too many other options on the doorstep. We spent two nights prior to a cruise we were taking and it was lovely. Always a good choice.
"Elegant hotel in the heart of Old Quebec with easy access to the many attractions"
We were met at the front entrance and our bags were taken from the car and the car parked in their underground car park for us. They would bring it to the front door for whenever we wished. The wide staircase led into an elegant reception area where we were quickly registered and our luggage taken by the bell boy who led us to our room whilst giving us an account of the hotel's facilities. Our room was excellent with a small balcony overlooking one of the main streets. We were very comfortable and had a great night's sleep. Our only disappointment was breakfast which was not cheap. The waiter served 'toast' which had been shown the toaster but had not passed through it as it was barely warm and still white. He was disinterested in meeting our needs, contrary to all other staff we met. The hotel itself is in an excellent position for easy access by foot to the major attractions including the main shopping streets, the main square and the ramparts. There are many good restaurants offering excellent food at great value for money. We ate at the Hotel Le Capitole just beyond the Port St Jean. An excellent meal with great service. If you're looking for a well appointed hotel which is central to Vieux Quebec this is the one for you. Simply take your breakfast as we did the second morning at the Paillard just opposite the hotel on Rue St Jean - you won't be disappointed.
This is a very nice hotel, and I got the impression the staff and owner are really trying to make it good quality. Renovated modern rooms in an old building. Comfortable beds in a large room, with a great shower and flat screen tv. Breakfast buffet is basic but also reasonably priced. Free wifi, and a great location in the old town and 10min walk from the station. Only complaint common with old buildings is noise from the room next door and above. I got woken up both mornings from noise from neighbors via paper thins walls. Maybe I was unlucky. Unfortunately you can't turn the fan up on the limited Aircon controls to drown out noise. But in all I was quite satisfied, can recommend, and would stay again.
"Don't be fooled by the entrance...this hotel is a gem."
We stayed here for two nights as part of our fall foliage tour. The Manor Victoria is located in a great part of Quebec City, perfect location for walking/touring, eating and shopping. From the outside the hotel looks "old". But...once you climb the stairs to the lobby you know you are staying in a fine, elegant hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were part of a group of 50 and when we arrived our room keys were waiting for us, so we were able to immediately begin exploring Quebec City before night fell. I fell in love with this place. Our room was laid out perfectly for two people. Each of us had a window view of the city, the beds/pillows were perfect for a good night's sleep. Top quality amenities in the bathroom and the coffee provided in the room was excellent. Breakfast was included one morning and it was a most delicious meal. I loved staying here and was very sorry to depart.
"Great hotel and location"
What a great time we had in Quebec City. We were greeted upon arrival at the door and got immediate assistance with luggage and parking. The hotel is semi-boutique and the location is perfect for walking to the attractions and around the old city. Staff were very helpful and all spoke English, though I tested my weak French on them. Once we learned the lay of the land we realized what a great hotel choice we made.
