"Good value for money, friendly staff, location close to the harbor & beach"
I spent 4 days in Valencia and I stayed in Hotel Marina Atarazanas. I really enjoyed my stay here because it was closed to many shops, to the subway stop, close to the harbour and around 15 min walk to the beach. I was very satisfied about the breakfast and the cleaning service. Also I really appreciated that the personel was very friendly and there was a man at the recepcion very patient and honest and he helped us a lot. The only thing I didn't like were the dirty windows 🙂 that impeded us to admire the view from the 7th floor and the light bulb from the bathroom that was making a weird noise unbeareble. In the end it has a good value for money, even if the hotel was a little bit far from the city center, but it's close to the City of Arts and Sciences. I recommend you to choose this hotel if you want to be in a quiet area, but close to the beach and if you don't want to spend a fortune for a city break in Valencia.
"Nice and quiet hotel, focused on sleeping."
The hotel is quite small, and no too fancy - but well located near the sea and with great fares in relation to what you get. Rooms are small, but not tight, and the portier service along with cleaning and room service splendible.
the staff were very efficient. great location near the port; short walk to the beach; short walk to metro station; offer bikes for hire; there is a bar; breakfast is optional- not great value so maybe dont bother.
"Great location, nice staff, but a little grubby - very much 3 star.."
I booked this hotel because it was within the 'cheap weekend getaway' budget I had give myself, and for a 3 star hotel in what seemed like a good location, £158 for three nights with breakfast seemed a bargain for the reviews I had read before going away. We really enjoyed our first trip to Valencia, but in hindsight I think I would pay a little bit more next time and upgrade the hotel. The location is PERFECT for most things in Valencia. The metro (30 minute easy ride from the airport) is only a 10 minute walk away - with google maps, we found the hotel/metro very easily, its a few straight simple roads to the hotel. The hotel is a 15- 20 minute walk (again an easy walk) to the beach through the local port/harbour and a lovely walk. There is a little bar on the main road called Casa Blanca - literally less than a minute from the hotel - and there are a few shops and restaurants nearby. We walked to the Oceanographic sealife centre and to the City of Art and Science from the hotel and it was about 20 minutes - a straight-forward walk with a map. Location-wise I couldn't fault it. The breakfast was however not great. We basically got it free, and we only ate there the first morning, as decided to branch out the rest of the trip. The breakfast costs 8 euros if you haven't got in included and I would say don't bother! Its literally some cereal, juice, and some frankfurter sausages with a little bowl of scrambled egg - not great and definitely not worth 8 euros. Venture across the road for a Spanish brekkie! I am unsure if the restaurant does evening meals - but I would have avoided either way after brekkie. The room itself has an AMAZING VIEW of the bell tower and of Valencia. The window is large and has an electric blind which is ideal for the sun. The air-con works great, and the room was cleaned/towels changed every day. Toiletries were provided - which I thought was a nice gesture, as for a 3 star hotel I didn't expect it. The room was decorated quite modern - with bright red wall and black furnishings. There was one thing that put me off - and would prevent me from giving more than a 3 star rating - cleanliness. I do think that a hotel should be clean - regardless of the stars, and I would rather have a clean room than one with free shampoo.. As soon as we got into the room, I noticed a stain in the bathroom next to the toilet. Now I am not usually too fussy, but this stain looked like urine and was just behind the toilet but VERY noticeable from anywhere the bathroom. Upon a closer look - to see if it was an actual stain on the floor, I noticed a hair in the stain. This immediately made me think it had not been cleaned - and as it was so noticeable, it put me off a lot. The dirt remained there for the whole time we were there - although the hair looked dislodged after two days. Definitely would prevent me from going there again. We also picked up a plastic cup on the side, and the main had out it upside down - when we picked it up it had a mountain of dust around the rim - something which made me cringe.... It is a shame, as I think with a little thorough clean, I would have rated it higher - but dirt and cleanliness does put me off - and for that reason I wouldn't stay there again. Seeing one dirty thing makes you think about the entire room/walls/bed etc... I looked at other hotels in the area, and some directly on the beach were not much more expensive but I would definitely pay more next time and hope for better hygiene.
"Average hotel, good if you don't spend too much type in."
The hotel is in a good location if you want to be kind of close to the beach. It is exactly by the port but in order to reach the playa it is recommended to hire a bike because it is not a pleasant walk under the sun otherwise. If you rent a bike it is a short cycle to the beach, a 5/10 min cycle to the city of arts and science and a 20 min cycle to the city center. Buses are also available. Regarding the hotel, the reception staff is ok but doesn't go extra mile. The housekeeping mades start talking to each other very loud early in the morning (around 9) so if you want to sleep in a little longer it is very annoying. Cleaning is just average, it's not the best. Generally speaking, they could make an effort to present themselves better to guests but we didn't have a bad experience overall.
