Located in Madrid's luxurious district of Salamanca, the Miguel Ángel Hotel is only a few steps away from the historic district and is situated close to the principal museums as Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza or Reina Sofia, but also close to the emblematic Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and the International Fais Park IFEMA. It only takes 10 minutes by car to reach the historical center of the city or the Madrid-Barajas International Airport.
We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and attentive. Breakfast was good. Garden and Spa are really lovely, although there is a charge for Spa. Hotel is a bit dated but rooms are comfortable. On check out I left my watch and the hotel very kindly arranged for it to be posted back to London.
"Blue Bay, please buy better beds!"
The Miguel Angel has been a favourite of ours for years. The location, genuinely kind staff, and pleasant rear garden are more than enough to compensate for the battered bedroom furniture and rather dated bathroom. But whether it’s because we’re getting older, or because for the first time we were given twin beds rather than our usual double, the beds were excruciatingly hard. In fact, we both agreed as we left that we simply could not have faced another night there. Ouch!
We stayed there for 4 nights and enjoyed very much. Although it's not located in the center it is very easy to reach the central areas and all attractions. The service is excellent and our all requests were fulfilled immediately. The staff is very kind and polite and especially the girl in the reception- Isabel - helped us a lot with reservations and etc. breakfast was rich and included everything you need. The room was big and comfortable and they cleaned it twice a day. I would like to stay there again in my next visits.
"Do not go to this hotel!"
I saved up a lot of money to go to this hotel, and it wasn't 5*!, the staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful and look at you in disgust when you speak English. Didn't feel welcome or comfortable at anytime. -The room did not look like the picture -the room decor was old and dirty -the maid didn't even come in to change the bedding or give us new toilet paper etc... -the food in the lobby bar would be small, and was falsely advertised. -they wouldn't give you ur change unless you ask(expecting a tip) -they didn't help you with tourist questions, like the nearest shop' -they made you feel awkward asking questions and wouldn't bother to answer because I speak in a different language. - all we was to them was money, not even people -they would stare and talk and would make you feel uncomfortable - at breakfast they didn't serve you hot drinks because we were English -when checking out they didn't even ask how are stay was(it was like we wasn't there) -they are always trying to get money out of you, by putting things on your card, when you would pay cash straight away at the bar! Among lots of other things, I won't be returning..please don't make the mistake I did.. I should of done my research.
"Hotel Miguel Angel …. not 5 stars"
This hotel is well located and the staff is very pleasant but this is not a 5 stars hotel by far ….more like a 3 stars . The rooms are very old and the carpet is so old that you can see right through it. The rooms facing the street are very noisy but the ones facing the inside courtyard are very quiet
