"Brilliant...lovely food, courteous staff, amazing rooms!!! "
We stayed in a corner room. It was huge, well worth paying the very small extra supplement. The rooms had 2 huge double beds, a large double shower unit with separate toilet along with his/her sinks. Well stocked with the obligatory toiletries and the soap /moisturiser from The White Company. They were contemporary and meticulously clean. Plenty of Tea/ coffee making facilities provided. An ice bucket was also supplied which was promptly filled on request. Children were provided with fun packs at reception to keep them entertained. Throughout our stay the reception staff were courteous, polite and attentative. We ate breakfast at the hotel and was pleasantly surprised at the amount and variety of fresh fruit on offer. Cooked breakfast was high quality and plentiful. There was also a choice of cereals/ toast/pastries and yoghurts. The cheese selection and cold meats were lovely. Staff quickly cleared any used plates and attended every request with willingness. They were attentative and cheerful and the children were greeted with eagerness. The hotel is extremely well placed with lots of large shopping retail outlets right on your doorstep. Plenty of eateries nearby to choose from although if breakfast was anything to go by we would have probably chosen to eat at the hotel. A really lovely pleasant stay.
"Oh my god what a **** room!"
The check in was fine and the general appearance of the foyer was good. That all changed when I arrived in my room. Dirty bathroom, poor carpet and the mattress was like sleeping on a straw bag! No support and so uncomfortable. I phoned downstairs and was told all of the mattresses where of similar quality. I won't be staying here again and wil go to the Hilton
"Nice place to stay "
A really nice place to stay for a one night stopover. The receptionist was absolutely fantastic and made me feel very welcome. The room was great for my needs and the breakfast the next day was absolutely brilliant. If I would change anything it would just be to loose the leather pillows and replace the normal ones with a couple of more softer ones (personal preference of course.)
"Excellent Stay and the food was good to"
We stayed at the Hotel as part of a presentation package for thr company that my wife is employed by. The mani event was held in the Conference centre within the stadium itself. The hotel was excellent, from the moment you walked through the door, the staff were there and very helpful thoughout our stay. We arrived a little earlier than we anticipated but there were no issues, the room was ready and as we got there waerly we got changed and used the hotels leisure facilities. Which for a hotel of this size were smaller than i expected although whilst using them there were very few other people there. I would imagine on a busy day it might have been dificult to get the equipment you wanted when you wanted it in the gym. Other than that no complaint. Our main meal of the evening was undertaken in the stadium area and was part of a presentation evening so everyone there ate the same unless there were dietary requirements. Whilst the meals were nice, the portion size of the main dishe left something to be desired. it was served on the plates and there were no additional dishes of vegetables etc. As a 6'01" ex rugby player I am used to having a somewaht larger piece of chicken and a lot more veg on my plate. But overall the meal was adequate and enjoyable. Breakfast the following morning was excellent and the herb sausages a delight on the tastebuds. I would stay here again if I was in the area, but obviously being from some 130 miles away it will not be that often I will find myself needing a place to stay in Reading. Thank you to all the satff who helped to make our stay a very enjoyable experience
"Convenient location "
Partner attended business meeting and left me to keep myself busy at the hotel! Was able to check into room early. Staff very friendly and helpful. Stayed in a lounge room which gives access to club lounge which includes free tea, coffee and soft drinks. Would recommend this. Used the gym, basic but suffice with all the latest equipment. Ordered room service (breakfast) which was good, quality food Ample free parking in hotel grounds. May be congested on match days. Located near retail parks just off A33, but you can't hear traffic in room. Room was spacious and clean. Would stay here again.
