Comfortable space with modern decor centrally located to most shops and restaurants. Hotel room could use more light and electrical outlets near night stand.Comment of C. Mani , United States the 2016-03-16
"Great Hotel and Location"
My husband and I stayed at The Marker for 3 nights to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. It's located just a few blocks from shops and restaurants in Union Square. There was a mix up with our reservation and the front desk staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The room was a little small, but it was clean and well maintained and we didn't spend much time there. They offer a free wine hour with light hors d'oeuvres from 5-6pm each night. That was a nice touch. The Tenderloin district is a block behind the hotel and it's a little sketchy. My husband and I ventured this unknowingly the first day. The hotel staff later confirmed they don't encourage guests to walk in that area. We did walk through the area on another day to get to a church we were visiting, but stayed clear at night. Like anywhere you go, I'd suggest you just be careful and vigilant. However, if you walk towards Union Square or the streets in front of the hotel, you should be fine. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and encourage other to stay as well.
Hotel meet expectations. Stayed in hotel in December for usd 189,-- per night, this stay was usd 849,--. Quite a big difference for the same accomodation as in December. Understood that rooms were fully booked due to an event.
"4 days in San Fran over New Years!"
This hotel was our base, for my first visit to SF over New Years. Overall pretty happy, but it wasn't as awesome as we were expecting. The website and photos make it look a lot better than it was. This hotel would be a lot cheaper if it wasn't in SF! Service was great at reception. Pros: -Located right near Union Square -Lovely grand entrance and spacious communal areas -24hr gym in basement - Super comfy bed and pillows etc - Free wine daily at 5pm! Cons: -No breakfast or actual restaurant in house -No coffee making facilities in room' -Slow WiFi -Rooms are essentially just decorated to make them look fancy / boutique. They are not. -Love it or hate it location (central yet a bit close to grotty Tenderloin)
"Great hotel, great location"
I really enjoyed my stay at the Marker Hotel. It was for just one-night, but it had all of the qualities I look for in a hotel. The room had a nice ambience to it-pleansantly decorated and colorful; the location couldn't have been better-just few short blocks from Union Square; and the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I got in too late to enjoy the wine and cheese. Make sure you get there before 6:00 PM.
"Great location, service and staff"
It's our first time staying at the Marker Hotel. The hotel location is very convenient and only a few blocks away from the Union Square. Front Desk and Housekeeing staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room is very comfortable. Our room is facing Geary street, sometimes it can be noisy at night.
