Comfortable space with modern decor centrally located to most shops and restaurants. Hotel room could use more light and electrical outlets near night stand.Comment of C. Mani , United States the 2016-03-16
"Great decor but rooms are not functional"
The hotel has an amazing decor and is located near union square (good location if you don't mind the homeless people roaming the streets there). But, the room we got was very small and we had not power sockets near the bed (no where to charge our phones :( ). We also had to wait few minutes for hot water in the shower. It's a good hotel but I think I will try another hotel for my next visit to SF.
Overall great stay... Clean hotel in a great location and very friendly staff. The hotel recently changed names and is better for it. I would stay there again when I am in San Francisco. I did not try the restaurant, but it looked good.
"Good though could've been really fab"
Lovely place with awesome staff and a great Italian restaurant downstairs. Would've gotten full marks if the room didn't have questionable hot water supply at the start. We were advised to 'tease it' and ridiculously it worked. Maybe that's the price you gotta pay for a certain style an pd quirkiness that comes with the territory. But the second room we stayed in had no issues at all. Would stay here again whenever we are back in SF. Really great with kids too and above all else, service with a smile, location, and clean beds and baths are really all I ever ask for in a hotel. The wine hour is nice and the free coffee is fine but I would've preferred coffee making facilities in the room to be honest. Quick walk to union sq and the Japanese restaurant just down the road (sushi boat) is a really surprising gem - have the sushi not the mains. The dodgy tenderloin district is really close but if you just don't walk there its absolutely fine. Convenient Walgreens across the street and some nice art galleries to wander past too. We did the open top bus tour (stop opposite Macy's) and loved it - great overview of the city and the wonders it has to offer. Also SPQR for Italian is excellent - in Filmore. One of the best italian I have ever ever ever had. Something special and different in every bite. For more traditional yet also excellent Italian, nearer to the marker is Puccini and pinetti. Oh and there's Cheesecake Factory above Macy's
My wife and I stayed for 3 nites in October 2016 and had a very good experience. The Hotel staff was courteous and always helpful. The Marker is about 10 min. to Union Sq and the Powell St BART. Our room was clean, quiet and had all the ameneties. We booked thru Hotwire @$175 per nite which is a great rate for SF. We enjoyed the wine hour and coffee in the lobby each morning. There is a very good wine shop Napa Wines located around the corner that we purchased from. Common areas like hallways and lobby were clean, It is a pet friendly hotel so be aware when booking. We had no issue but at check in let them know of our allergies to pets. They accomodated us. We would definately return and highly recommend!
The room was awesome. I stayed on the 7th floor. It was great to recharge after a day full of running around town. The hotel sent me an email with the option of checking in sooner. I was also able to request hyperallergenic bed sheets. After my getaway, it was difficult to leave... I wanted to stay longer.
