"Good location "
Good hotel great breakfast nice staff and easy to get around once mastered the trams. Need a separate password for each wifi device so make sure you ask for extra passwords at the desk. Big room very nice.
"Amazing weekend away for 21st!"
I celebrated my 21st birthday in Berlin with my boyfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at New Berlin. With great access to the SBahn and Trams, we were able to visit lots of different spots around Berlin. We attended two gigs whilst in Berlin, one at the Astra Kulturhaus which was a brilliant venue! The other was in a quirky bar. We also visited Sachsenhausen Memorial and Museum - for anyone interested in history and culture, I'd definitely suggest going, however it is not for the faint hearted. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, it was lovely and clean with great facilities.
"Fine, but a little disappointing"
The Newberlin hotel is in a residential area and will not give you a feeling of being where it all happens. This doesn't have to be a bad thing, depending on what you want. The receptionist was very welcoming upon arrival. I was a little surprised that I had to walk across a large courtyard to a second building to get to my room. This annex was very different from the pictures on-line. The hallway was dark and the room was not light and modern as I had expected. It was "retro" at best and didn't feel like a proper four-star room at all. My view was directly into a condemned building across another courtyard. The breakfast restaurant was in the annex, and the food an service here was good. There are outside seats as well as inside seating. I tried the sauna and relax-area which was much smaller than I had expected. The sauna itself was self serviced and I had to figure out the controls to make it work. The sauna was also quite small, so it's a good thing I was the only person there. I ate at the restaurant one evening. They had run out of my choice, but the steak sandwich I ended up with was very good and delicately prepared. The waiter was also very pleasant. Checkout went really fast.
"This hotel is a hidden gem!"
I live around the corner and this is my go-to hotel for guests. It might not be in the most happening part of Berlin, but it's in a nice up and coming neighborhood, and close to parks, S-bahn, u-bahn and trams. The breakfast is out of this world, too many choices. The staff are really nice, and help with u-bahn tickets, bike rental, and the last time we were given one of the rooms in the back, the "cheaper option" but it was so sunny, old hardwood floors, and just a delightful mini loft feeling. You can look into other Berliner apartments and enter through a courtyard without having to go through the loggy- it's cheaper because there isn't a fancy flatscreen on the wall but who comes to Berlin to watch TV'' the neighborhood, particularly on the side streets are great - there is a new little brewery down the street, a vega bistro and a nice artsy movie theater, small cafes everywhere.
"Great family hotel"
This is a great hotel for families. Spacious, apartment-like rooms. Great staff! The hotel is well connected to public transport. Good facilities like sauna and spa, with a cosy resturant. The hotel is well priced for a 4 star establishment. Great breakfast.
