"Buenos Aires with a view"
We had a junior suite on one of the top floors, thanks to an upgrade. Nice bed room and a living room with a great view over Buenos Aires. And always nice to take a swim in a rooftop pool, even if it's a rather small pool ;-) Breakfast was great, staff was very welcoming.
"not what they advertise"
Was placed here due to a schedule with cruise line. Nothing is open after 6 and the people who work there do not care. There business center has computers from 25 years ago when my children were young. they lacked a good bed with mattress placed together as a queen. very uncomfortable. Room service is a joke. Cold eggs that separated and orange water not juice. Expensive and not worth the money
"Good base for exploring Buenos Aries"
We stayed here 4 nights in January 2016 in a standard room on 8th floor. Room had a nice layout, good shower, good wifi, lots of counter space and was very quiet. The only thing missing was a coffee maker, for that you need to book the superior room for 50 bucks more a night. Location is great. Metro stations just a couple of blocks away. Store right across the street sells snacks and water and will change money at a good rate. Some good restaurants close by. We liked the London City and Cafe Tortoni. Don't miss the Sunday market on Dorrego which starts just around the corner from the hotel. This hotel basically has everything you need for a few days in BA. Good value too! Highly recommended by Oldbackpack.
"Older but reasonable with a very good breakfast"
This hotel is located in the downtown near many government buildings and offices. We spent 2 nights here before leaving for a cruise. There are two entrances to this hotel- one new lobby and one older lobby. Our taxi dropped us off at the lobby for the older part and we checked in there. We had reservations and our rooms were older but comfortable. One of the rooms showed some wall cracking and other signs of age. I'm not sure if there are "new sections" so we might have been able to request new rooms, but we didn't ask. The cooling systems eventually cooled down both rooms and once cooled they were fine. The price was fairly reasonable considering the downtown location. The breakfast was really very good. There is a huge variety of offerings and the staff keeps the items well stocked up to closing, so even late arrivals don't experience any limited food items. There is even sparkling wine if desired. Everyone in our family was impressed with the variety and quantity. Many places of interest are located within walking distance and the area seems very safe.
"Adequate but lacking in soul or atmosphere"
I stayed here over New Year as part of a longer trip in Argentina/Chile. I picked it because it offered an outdoor pool, gym and was centrally located. On arrival there was no help with luggage. You have to go up around ten steps and negotiate a revolving door to get in. No friendly greeting at the desk either. The room on the eighth floor was fine. Excellent large comfy bed and good bedding. Plenty of storage and a safe. There was air con, however it was so loud I rarely used it when sleeping as it disturbed. No tea or coffee facilities but there is a minibar. Bathroom was fine although practically impossible to shower without flooding the room. Only ever had warm water. No hot. If I opened the windows I found there was noise from the street and local area. You could even hear the underground trains. Breakfast buffet was good. The rooftop pool was a disappointment. Tiny, and each day of three I went to use it, it was either packed and so no room or there were no spare chairs or beds. It also closes early and the wonderful views are therefore denied after 7pm. The sauna was not in use at all and the gym wasn't available despite being on the in house literature. Front desk service was adequate but not friendly in any way except in my check out where they organised me a taxi. Location is excellent just two minutes from the Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada. Metro stop also under a minute away. I would not come back to this NH hotel. There are others in town. I've stayed at the Latino before and enjoyed it better despite being a modern build.
