"Excellent overnight stay"
WE stayed at the NH Florida overnight as our last night in Argentina. It was good to stay in a different part of the city to where we stayed when we first arrived. It was excellent for our purpose. It is close to the centre of the city but quiet and pleasant. THe staff were most obliging and efficient and the room well suited to our needs.
Perfect location! The staff was helpful. The buffet breakfast was good. The only problem was the elevator. It was really difficult to cach it in the mornings. The primary way to get down for the breakfast was via the emergency stairs / there were not normal stairs/.
"One Night Excellent Room"
We stayed with my wife for one night the room was excellent. The Hotel is a block away from Galerias Pacifico Mall so there is plenty to shop and eat. You can try many places in the food court but for a light meal nothing beats good old Starbucks. Go to the one on the second floor as its not as crowded. The hotel though it was refurbished lately could do with some more care for details. Carpets on the hall way and all those things little things you don´t pay much attention i.e. the A/C thermostat could do with a thorough clean for example. Still overall it was a great experience comfy bed and as said the room was great, with a small sitting area and TV. Will go back.
"Could have been better"
I’m really not sure where to start as far as this hotel is concerned. The staff is friendly, distracted but, friendly. After one in our group got mugged inside the hotel bar area, they seemed to put down the phones and step it up a bit. The hotel is old and it has central heating and cooling. The heat was unbearable. Even if you turned it off it still came through and it created an incredibly dry atmosphere, making it hard to breathe at night. Several of us tried sleeping with the windows open only to catch some major flu’s. The front of the hotel faces and alley and is really noisy if you do have the window open. Housekeeping is incredibly loud, once they are running around you can forget any chance of sleeping. If they are cleaning the room beside you or above you it’s like they are slamming the furniture around on purpose. The floors were rarely cleaned and I know this by the stuff they knocked over and left on the floor as well as the many breadcrumbs that never seemed to disappear. The front desk runs a video of the rooms and the nice products they provide for their guests but, aside from shampoo and soap the first week, we didn’t get to have any of those products, ie. body lotion, body gel, conditioner, and for some reason they would leave you two soaps but, they would take one away daily to force you to use the other and then after a week they didn’t give you any at all. The towels at least on one occasion were clearly picked up of the floor, this I noticed because I spilled water one day, when I cleaned it up the towel came up black. It was hung up with the other hand towel the next day. Other days I would find the blanket rolled up and thrown on my luggage occasionally with my jacket rolled up with it. Overall they really need to step it up and quiet it down. Room service isn’t over priced but, it isn’t cheap. I had it 4 times, but, usually they didn’t have the item I asked for first. One example is a corn soup that I requested at least 5 times but, was never available. The first time I got food it was good but, next I got a raw egg omelet, and the greasiest spaghetti bolognese I have ever seen. Breakfast is ok, mostly sweet breads, cereal, eggs, hot dogs cut up into pieces, coffee and milk. The area around the hotel is shady at best. There is a group of people living on a mattress not 10 feet from the front door and that also happens to be where the prostitutes hang out all night. They often get rowdy and start screaming, fighting, or partying. During their waking hours they harass you for food and money and made it uncomfortable to walk past them as you never knew if you were going to get attacked. Really the only good thing I came away with is that the staff are friendly but, yes they have a lot of work to do to get it up to par.
"Cheapest NH in Buenos Aires but you don't give up anything for the savings"
I stayed at this hotel four times in the last year. It is very centrally-located with clean and comfortable rooms. The buffet breakfast has a lot of choices of breads, pastries, fruits, cereals, cold cuts, scrambled eggs and bacon that were well-prepared and of high-quality. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful with my requests. Once I got an early check-in at 7:30am for a small supplement that was well worth it and they included breakfast although it was my day of arrival. I have stayed at most of the NH hotels in Buenos Aires and this one seems to consistently quote the cheapest rates online.
