"Lovely rooms away from the crazy city centre"
We stayed for 4 nights over Easter and found the hotel to be a very friendly place to stay. The room we had was large, clean with a really good shower and huge bathroom. Room was really clean and bed extremely comfortable. Unfortunately the bar area is small and only stays open until midnight. We had breakfast on one morning and this wasn't very good. It's a small crowded room, the staff didn't really understand about the cooked breakfast and the buffet wasn't very inspiring. The staff throughout the hotel were very friendly.
"Lovely hotel great location"
We found this hotel on Booking.com - it proved to be everything we wanted. It is easy to reach from Central Station- you can pick up Tram route 4 right outside the station, and there's a tram stop right outside the hotel. We had a room in the basement ( souterain) which proved to be ideal: spacious, very quiet, huge bathroom. Nice touches like free mini bar (no alcohol, but cokes, orange juice, Pringles replenished every day. Big TV with BBC1and 2 amongst other European channels. We did NOT have breakfast or meals at the hotel- just our choice - but restaurant there looked v nice. Staff could not have been more helpful, esp Laurens the hall porter whose English ( as is everyone's) is impeccable. The hotel is on edge of city centre but only 2 mins walk from Albert Cuypstraat street market, 5 mins walk from Heinecken brewery and canal trip boats, and 8-10 mins walk from Rijksmuseum. Would really recommend this hotel highly.
I find it incredible this hotel has bad reviews. The location is perfect, the hotel staff extremely warm and helpful, the room was spotless and ideal. We had a free mini bar replenished daily, a greeting of two small bottles of prosecco plus a chocolate Easter bunny as a welcome gift, a coffee machine with pods..... need I say more' We didn't eat at the hotel but the presentation and dining area was immaculate. Well done guys!!
"Visit to Tulip Fields, Keukenhof and Canals"
Brilliant location, at end of T4 tram, from right outside Central Station, 15 minute ride, through the main centre, shops, sights, restaurants and attractions. Close to big street market and hop on hop off boats and buses. Lovely room, modern, clean, free mini bar with snacks and soft drinks. Towels replaced daily. Good breakfast, wide selection. Good quality food, especially the Fisherman's soup, but menu limited in choice. Very friendly, helpful staff. I would definitely stay there again.
"Nice property, rude staff"
We have stayed here during the Amterdam marathon in 2016. The reason to pick a relatively expensive hotel over airbnb was to be able to take a shower after te run. I have indicated this at booking and reinforced at check-in. We were told that it's not a problem, just need to let the reception know at the day. With this in mind we didn't pack our staff, just wanted to leave on time to the race. To our big surprise we were told at the reception that whilst it is possible, it will cost a fair amount of extra money to do so. It was useless that we told them this is not the information we have received so far, the receptionist kept repeating that the previous shift likely made a mistake not giving us the full information. We were so upset that we ended up packing up all our stuff in a rush - resulting in almost being late from the race. To be fair I was allowed to use the shower in the gym after the race but as you can imagine this is far from what I wanted and thought I am paying the extra money for - I can say with certantity that we won't return to this hotel again.
