We arrived in the city about 10AM and with lots of time to kill before check-in went around the city. After a couple of hours I was sick of the sight of my suitcase and we decided to head to the hotel to see if we could leave our bags. The tram network in Amsterdam is fabulous, we purchased 2 day travel tickets online that could be picked up on arrival at Schiphol and came in handy staying just out the centre. We arrived around 12:30, I originally headed to the desk to ask if we could leave the bags there but the polite man on reception checked us in there and then! I was unaware of the security deposit but luckily had my debit card on me. (I would recommend using cash or a credit card though personally) The hotel from the outside is gorgeous and it gets even better inside. So elegant but modern. We sat in reception for a while where I had a coughing fit and a lovely lady gave me a lemon water to help without me asking. We booked a sousterrain room and I was so impressed with the size of it. The bathroom was lovely with a shower, bath and a sink with a mirror but also a light up magnified mirror that came in very handy! Our minibar hadn't been stocked but as we were settling in a lady came round filling them up so we didn't exactly go without. The coffee machine was lovely too! The bed is so comfy and we both slept like logs, I am normally an early riser and only woke up at 9:30! Check out was simple but there is a city tax for those who didn't do their homework like me! Can not wait to come back later in the year!! Thankyou Hotel Notting Hill for a perfect break :)
"Great central location and really nice hotel"
We stayed here for 2 nights over the New Year period and had a great time. Price was about right for Amsterdam city centre and to be fair it was good value for money as the hotel was of a good standard. Easily accessible, the number 4 tram from Amsterdam Centrall train station stops literally outside the door after a ten minute ride. We bought a pass at Schipol airport that gets you the return train journey to/from the airport and unlimited tram travel around the city for 3 days (costs 25 Euro p/p). The room was big with excellent facilities including dressing gowns, plenty of toiletries etc. and it was immaculately clean and comfortable. We were on the basement floor and the only negative thing I would say about that is that there is some sort of staff room or entrance down there so it is noisy and we were woken up both mornings from it. The staff were all very polite and professional, checking in and out was seamless. We did not eat in the restaurant as we had other plans but we looked in and it was very nice and had a good menu. Plenty of things in close proximity... The Heineken Experience and shops are about a 5 minute walk, another 5 will get you to the Leidseplein, Museum quarter and Vondelpark. 10 minutes in the other direction will get you to Rembrandt Square and a little further to Dam Square etc. (20/30 mins) although you can hop on and off the tram to all. This was my 6th trip to Amsterdam recently and not my last. This is one of the best hotels I have come across and I would definitely stay there again and recommend it.
"Fab Little Hotel!!"
Hotel was great loacation. Around 20 minutes walk to most places or there is a tram stop directly opposite the hotel if you do not wish to walk. Hotel in general was lovely and very modern. Reception were very helpful and friendly. I ordered a lunch and dinner at the hotel both which were of great quality. Rooms are comfy, modern and clean. There was a free mini bar with coke, orange juice, water and a pack of Pringles which was refilled daily. Had a great stay here and would definitely stay again. The only bad thing I would say was the gym as it is was so small but ok for a quick bit of exercise.
"Amsterdam Garage Nation Festival "
This hotel was absolutely lovely, champagne on arrival and smiles! he staff on reception may I say did an excellent job in communication prior to the trip, and happily illustrated maps for us to get around to key places many times (I think his name was Lee, such a lovely guy). We visited DAM for the first time and it was very local to Club Air, to which our festival took place, and was around 8minute walk or 5 minute taxi. The hotel itself was of a lovely modern design, and right across the road from the tram which is about 4 stops until you get to Rembrandt Square, Dam Square and more! I would definitely stay here again.
We loved the hotel, its very conveniently located, just opposite a tram stop and very central. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with any information that we required. They certainly went the extra mile to make our stay a great one.
