I've just returned from a 3 night stay at the hotel otto. I stayed there approx 7 years ago. It's a great hotel, perfectly located for everything. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fab and the lady who served was really welcoming, the rooms are clean, comfy and spacious. If you can secure one at the back that would be better than the front as you can get woken up by the dustcarts on Monday am. However apart from that an excellent hotel and I am in fact going back to Berlin in Feb and the Otto will be my go to Zhotel .
"a fine stay in this hotel !"
Well situated, nice breakfast, good service. Rooms located at street side are noisy (windows to change in double glass isolation should do the trick). Free snacks coffee, tea, etc... till 21:00 hrs = great extra service !
"A gem!would definitely return"
Two minutes from the nearest station Ernst Reuter Platz a convenient hotel based in an smart neighborhood with plenty of eateries nearby. All staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful .In fact did everything they could to assist with our enquiries. The hotel is bright modern and smart. The bedroom comfortable and well equipped. There is no tea making facility in the bedroom but there is free tea ( range of teas) coffee and cake available until 9 pm each day. There is a TV in your room and the body wash available is nice. Shower is simple to use and effective. Hairdryer better than the usual.Adequate storage for a four night stay and a reasonable price laundry service available. A novelty lift takes you between floor one to six but you need to be able to walk some steps to. The breakfast is beautiful, fresh and varied, ranging from cereals yoghurts very fresh salad, cheese, meats and fresh bread rolls to egg, bacon and sausage ....continental of course! Latte coffee divine and served by staff who are attentive and remember what you enjoy! We did indulge in a glass or two of sparkling wine on a morning we were ambling and as breakfast is served until midday .. we indulged a bit. There is a balcony to sit out on a fine day with a great sunrise over the surrounding buildings. You can buy a Berlin card and public transport tickets from the reception. We heard that some one on request got a kettle for their room. This hotel may not be grand but truly deserves it's trip advisor status of one of the best hotels in Germany! I loved it all!
"Nice breakfast, but wifi needs improvement"
Otto is a really clean and spacious hotel. Loved how the room had a dressing room and really spacious bathroom. The free water and cakes were lovely, and the breakfast was great. I especially enjoyed the prosecco. However, a big drawback for me was the wifi. The connection in my room was so intermittent, that I barely had it while I was there. We had checked the hotel had wifi before we arrived as it was such an important requirement for us, so I was very disappointed that it was so rubbish.
"Everything we needed for three nights"
Just returned from a three night stay in a quad room for my family of four. Lots of space. The double is twin beds pushed together. My teenage girls were in twins beds, one of which was a fold away bed but comfortable mattress, just a litltle squeak. The room had teas of different varieties every day and a little biscuit on arrival. There was a wet room with hand lotions and soap for everyone and a little hallway and separate dressing rom for our cases with a mirror and hanging spaces. Flat screen TVs andseparate desk. Juice, tea and cake when you get back from sightseeing on the seventh floor although the probably not much left after 7pm In the way of cake. Our room was very quiet, 405, and the hotel is in a quiet street within walking distance of cafes for breakfast, we did not order the breakfast. We used both the ubahm stations zoological gardens and Ernst ....... The Renaissance theatre is at the end of the street from the hotel. We came in from one airport texel, one bus and a couple of trains to transfer and left from the other, schonefeld having left our hand luggage cases at the cathedral in lockers. We used the Berlin card to travel during our stay and this made travel very easy. We bought this at the airport.
