This is a nice hotel in a great location within Florence. It is clean and simple. You will find good rooms and good service as well. When staying in Florence this is definitely a location to consider.
This was a very nice, quaint older building. It was very nicely remodeled. The bathroom was very neat and clean with a heated towel rack and a bidet. the bathroom had two steps up to enter which was a little disconcerting at night. The mattresses in the room were two singles pushed together and were a little saggy in the middle. The room did not have sufficient outlets. I needed to unplug a lamp to charge my computer and phone. The hallway had multiple stairs on each level. Breakfast was very good with very attentive wait staff. The WiFi was a bit of problem as it kept dropping out. The room did not have an ironing board nor iron and they were not available in the hotel. I had a room at the front of the hotel and the street noise was a bit of a problem. Motorcycles seemed to travel the Via della Scala all night long. However, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay despite some of the issues.
"Great location, amazing service, beautiful rooms"
Close to many points of interest: Santa Maria Novella Train station (10 minutes); Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery, Piazza del Duomo, Medicee Chapel are all within 25 minutes walk. We loved the gorgeous antique decor in the hotel, and spacious spotless comfortable rooms. Start your day with a cup of fragrant espresso and delicious breakfast on the charming, serene courtyard patio. Amazing staff, really helpful and courteous - they would go out of their way to accommodate and provide you with helpful tips and information. Would definitely stay again.
"Nice simple hotel"
Enjoyed our stay here, staff were attentive and polite, the room was very clean, tidy and spacious. The location was excellent, nice and close to the station as well as markets, shops and sights. We would stay here again.
"Central hotel, good base"
Stayed here for our wedding anniversary at the end of Sept 2016. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room we had was spacious with a good bed/mattress/pillows, working aircon and two bathrooms. Breakfast is served daily next to the bar or in the little enclosed courtyard. Food was generally good - hot option included scrambled egg every day and either breakfast ham or sausage. Usual pastries, fruit, yoghurt, bread/croissants also available. We didn't eat any other meals at the hotel or use the bar, so can't comment on those. The hotel is on a busy road, so there is traffic noise if you are at the front. We were but it does die down enough overnight to allow you to sleep. It starts up again around 8am is weekdays and a bit after on the weekend. We were generally stirring by then and thinking about breakfast and another day's sightseeing, so this really didn't bother us at all. There were some building works going on next door whilst we were there but again, they kick off around 830am weekdays so by the time they get going, you're generally up and getting ready to go out anyway. The hotel is a five minute walk from the train station - which is also where the airport shuttle drops you off/picks you up. And then you're 5 mins away from the Santa Maria Novella and 10 mins away from either the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio.
