"Good location and standard"
This is not a fancy or luxury hotel, but it keeps good standard of room, service and breakfast. In addition it has a good location with just a few minutes walk from The Red Square and the nearest Metro station.
The location of hotel is great, In order to make this hotel value for money in a brilliant location, the owners of hotel should increase salary of the staff to make them guest oriented and a bit smiled. And another issue, i would recommend to manager of the hotel, just to stay one night in the hotel, and to see how in which conditions are the mattresses, i guess they have not been changed for many many year. please change them asap, as the main thing in the hotel is not design, food, facilities, but the sleep...
Hotel is situated in a good location. Very close walk to Red Square/Kremlin. The room was spacious and there was a great variety of food for breakfast. I also had dinner at the hotel and it did not disappoint. Must try the Russian honey cake at the hotel.
"Comfortable, great location, but not luxurious"
The Peter I Hotel is a comfortable, traditional, central Moscow hotel, based in a lovely historical property, but the service was a little shy and could be more forthcoming,. The location was excellent, a ten minutes walk from Red Square and close to restaurants, shops and other facilities. The reception staff are helpful, efficient and friendly, with a very good standard of English. It has a small souvenir, shop, spa, swimming pool and sauna. There is a bar and lobby seating area and a restaurant that serves Russian and European food and breakfast in the morning. If you want a porter you have to ask or they assume you can manage. Breakfast is largely a buffet with a wide range but the quality could be better. There is cooked and continental breakfast options and they will cook eggs to order, but I found you had to request this, the waiting staff won't offer it to you. The room I was given was large and quiet. There was lots of wardrobe space and a TV with largely local channels. The bed was large and comfortable and there was a desk and chair. The bathroom was fine with a shower, although it was little small. The wifi was free and the signal fast and strong. The towels were a little threadbare. There is a shoe polisher near the lifts. There is air conditioning in the room but it was not very responsive when I tried to change it so the room was quite warm. The housekeeping was excellent.. The Peter I was fine for a city break stay, but if you want a bit of luxury I would look elsewhere, it is a good hotel but not special.
The hotel is in the middle of the regenerated center of Moscow, close to red square, all of the theaters and a large amount of Cafe, Bars and restaurants, everything you want is on the door step, great leisure facilities and the rooms are very comfatable.
