The location of the Hotel Petit Palace Plaza is perfect for both tourists and business travelers. Nearby you will find the amazing buildings of the Stock Exchange and the Ritz. A short walk via Plaza de la Lealtad and Alfonso XII street brings you to the beautiful park El Retiro.
The hotel is also situated in the so-called collecting Art Walk – an area with the three most prestigious museums of the city such as the Museo del Prado, the Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
Thanks to its unbeatable location other emblematic attractions such as the Gran Via, Retiro Park and the Plaza Mayor can be reached easily and quickly. Going to Airport Barajas International Airport and the IFEMA only takes a short car ride.
Very good hotel in excellent location - particularly for museums and galleries.Comment of B. Stephen , United Kingdom the 2014-09-30
Desayuno completo. Excelente relación calidad-precio. Sin duda, repetiremos.Comment of C. "Very nice hotel"
We loved this hotel. Family of 5. Staff very helpful. Vanesa was really nice. Can't wait to come back. Location is very good. Close to Museo del prado and 12min walking to plaza del sol. Bathrooms were very clean. No need to bring any shampoo, toothbrush, plenty of everything
"A great place"
Had a wonderful time in this modern hotel. Excellent rooms, toiletries (despite the rather unusual room lay-out -- you see the bathroom first!), great breakfast, superior location (practically right behind the Prado, 10 minute walk from a Metro station). Staff speaks English and is very helpful with things like printing train tickets or calling you a cab. Great base for a Madrid visit.
First time visit to Madrid, Hotel was very nice, staff very helpful, would highly recommend, one thing I would mention, there's no Bar at the hotel, however there's a small cosy little bar/café next door, with very helpful staff..
"Zero hospitality "
This is the worst hotel in Madrid. The customer service is non existent. The staff could not assist me with anything that I needed help with. I asked for assistance in getting a rental car and the woman looked at me like I was crazy and told me to go to the train station. I attempted to order room service at 10pm (room service supposedly runs until 11pm according to the staff) and nothing was available. I was told the kitchen closes early. They brought a microwaved cheese roll to my room and said it was grilled cheese sandwich. There was/is no one to assist you with your luggage upon your arrival. And don't even think about asking for any beverages during non-room service hours. The staff couldn't even get a bottle of water or wine for us at 4pm from the kitchen. I was told to try again at 6pm when room service starts. The free wifi is spotty at best. You would have better service at a hostel. The only saving grace of this place is the breakfast, which is not cheap. 15€ per person. I do not recommend this place at all.
"Pretty appearance but Lousy stay/staff"
What I liked: 1. Location was good as it is near the Madrid Prado Museum and it is located on a quieter neighbourhood. 2. The decor is nice and the room is a big squarish room ideal for 2 persons only. (The sofa opens up as a bed for another 2 persons but doing so eats up most of the space in the room and the whole place becomes very cramped). What I disliked: 1. It is not near any metro station so it is a good 15 minutes walk to the nearest station. 2. The floor boards are creaky and is disturbing to someone else trying to sleep in the room. 3. The room does not have its own air-conditioner - a major, major downside. Here in winter, the central heating is too warm and stifling so one has to open the balcony doors to let in fresh cool air. But this means letting in the street noise and even though the hotel is on a quieter street, all noise on the street is terribly loud. On our first night, we were kept awake by a child crying incessantly. On the second night, the rubbish truck doing its round early in the morning woke us up. I was only too happy that we used the hotel only late at night and were out early in the mornings. 4. The shower has no door and this would inadvertently wet the entire WC and WC area. 5. The reception staff - they were the most unfriendly we have met in all 6 accommodations we stayed in Spain. Totally unhelpful and sulky when approached. I'm NEVER ever going to stay at another Petit Palace accommodation again.
