Hotel Petit Palace Santa Barbara, plus four stars, is located in the Plaza de Santa Barbara in the impressive Alonso Martinez area between “Genoa” and “Sagasta” streets and just a few steps away from the popular Gran Vía, the lively neighbourhood of “Chueca” and “Plaza de Cibeles” in an area where many cinemas, restaurants, terraces, cafes and shops can be enjoyed.

"Location, staff and food"
The staff are efficient and welcoming. The room was fine (even with a free laptop, though I wouldn't trrust that since it wasn't up to date with AV!). The hotel's location is great, easy to access the centre and shopping areas. And the restaurant is good - at breakfast, even the orange juice is fresh!
"Very good Hotel, Staff and Location"
As a group of 4, all agreed, we could not fault the Hotel. The rooms are nice, clean, with good room facilities, including iron and ironing board, kettle, minibar and a PC for WIFI, which is free. The staff were extremely attentive and pleasant, could not fault them. Breakfast is very good, but the dinner at €20 is a great offer, plus the drinks are reasonably priced for a hotel. The location is perfect, less than a ten minute walk to the centre. If we returned to Madrid, all of us would not hesitate to use the hotel again.
"Top class hotel."
This hotel is in a great location at the opposite end of Chueca from Gran Via, 5 mins walk. The staff are lovely and nothing is a problem. The rooms have everything you could need for your stay. I really couldn't find any fault with the whole experience.
"Great - as long as you are not in a room on the side street!"
Overall a pleasant hotel with clean rooms and in a good location. Make sure you don't get given one of the rooms on the first floor above the jazz club, but more importantly above the bottle recycling bin for (what seems like) the entire district! If you're a light sleeper, you won't sleep! Otherwise very happy with the hotel and would recommend.
"Well located hotel"
We booked in to the Petite Palace Santa Barbara Hotel for three nights during October half term to do some sightseeing. Upon check-in we were given a room in the attic and told that was all that was available by a female receptionist short on interpersonal skills. When we got to the room we discovered there was no window to speak of and as such no view. After phoning reception to complain a replacement was found immediately by a different receptionist. That particular room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the street and far more to our liking. The breakfast room was small but adequate, staff very helpful and with a small selection of cold meats, cheese, pastries and bread. Eggs are available upon request. Close to the Alfonso Martinez metro station and a ten to fifteen minute walk through Chueca to the Plaza Mayor the hotel is well located. The water dripping down from the lightbulb in the bathroom was worrying but didn't seem to cause too much alarm when reported. Look at your room before you unpack, check the electrics and you'll have a pleasant stay in what is a beautifully refurbished building. Drinks in the bar are to be recommended.
