Ideally located right on the Ereaga beachfront, in the exclusive Neguri neighbourhood, Petit Palace Tamarises Hotel boasts beautiful views of the sea and the city of Bilbao. Petit Palace Tamarises Hotel is just a stone's throw away from Bilbao and within easy access of the tourist hotspots in the Vizcaya region. The Puente Colgante de Portugalete (suspension bridge) is only two kilometres away and Bilbao Airport is a ten-minute drive away from Petit Palace Tamarises Hotel.
This was my 3rd visit to Tamarises. The Staff here are very friendly and polite. Libe who served me at the check in was very kind and offered me a room upgrade. The rooms are a comfortable size, clean with a modern design.
"Great location, wonderful staff"
The location is great, facing the beach in beautiful Getxo. Plenty of space to walk, run and of course swim. Surrounded by great restaurants with delicious Basque cuisine. Staff was very polite and helpful.
"Attentive staff; all you need by the beach"
I spent a few days over Christmas and couldn't have made a better choice. All the staff I met were very helpful, attentive and eager to help in any way possible. Breakfast buffet was good; the room was spacious, quiet and clean and they even left a small bottle of cava and some Xmas sweets on Xmas eve. I didn't spend much time in the hotel as I was visiting family and friends but I was always greeted with a smile and my requests were dealt with promptly. I will go back.
"An Enjoyable Stay in Getxo at the Tamarises"
We stayed at the hotel Tamarises for 5 nights in October 2016. A majority of rooms have the sea view and we were happy to pay a bit more for this. Nice room, very pleasant staff and great breakfast. Ereaga is a great beach and is right outside. We went to Bilbao City Centre a couple of times – Metro station is less than 10 mins walk; Trains are every few minutes and take about half an hour. Back in Getxo, the main town centre is Algorte which is either a 15 min walk away (up the hill as if walking to the metro but then left along an attractive pedestrian avenue) or along the front a short way to the 20¢ Ascensor de Ereaga lift then 5 mins walk. I can't see a Trip Advisor entry for the Puerto Deportivo or La Fontena so I'll mention this here: 10 mins walk the other way along the front is the Marina (Puerto Deportivo) which, as well as the inexpensive Aquarium (nice way to spend an hour) and a few bars and restaurants, includes the 'McDonalds complex' which deserves a special mention given the often encountered Spanish issue of late restaurant opening times versus young children's bedtime. Whilst most of the time we ate our main meal out as a late lunch mid afternoon, this day we had only had a sandwich earlier so were very hungry come 6pm. We ate at La Fontena and the Arrabiata and shared Caprese Salad certainly hit the spot and our 6 year old enjoyed his pizza. The motorway service area type feel to the place and the lack of other diners were not an issue for us given we were just glad to eat something more than Pintxos at a reasonable hour.
"pretty room, warm and friendly service"
I stayed at the Tamarises for the baptism of the child of a close friend. I travelled through Germany and France and was not sure when I would get there. Checked the website often, prices and availabilty varied a lot! Not sure if this is typical of the Tamarises or a wide-spread phenomenon. Anyway, I got a nice room, but without a view. Since they had declared that clearly on their website, that was no problem for me. The bathroom was very nice and modern, the room super clean. The hotel is situated right by the beach - perfect for strolls. What really impressed me was how friendly and helpful the staff was: five stars plus for the service!!!
