"Lovely boutique hotel"
We stayed here during Milano FW because we preferred little intimacy rather than bustling in crowds for which this hotel is perfect. When you enter, the lobby is very luxurious with piano, crystal chandelier, cosy armchairs and dandy-like paintings. The room was decently-sized, nice and clean bathroom. It's just walking distance from touristic attractions. During our stay, Via de Amicis was partially under construction but I assume it's probably settled by now.
"Clean and comfort"
Very large beautiful clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is continental. Good location close to the city center and other attractions. Only disadvantage is that no one is there to help to carry luggages.
This hotel is far beyond being anywhere near close to a 5 star hotel. I really could not beleive the poor service. It was my first time in Milan and surely not my last but for this hotel, yes. I was staying here alone and upon arrival I already felt the negative energy and lack of interest from the staff. I was simply asked for my name and passport and nothing else. No greeting, no hello...nothing. The room in fairness was nice but nothing special. Just a place to sleep really. After arriving I called room service only to be notified that hot food would not be served as the restaurant was closed - why wasn't I notified when I arived at reception' Breakfast was just okay. The Asian waiter, who clearly falls down the list for customer service skills ignores me as I walk in, as I am choosing some food from the buffet, comes to ask..."Capuccino, you want capuccino'". Does "Good morning" not exist here' Not a single word after that was shared. My second breakfast day was not the best either, this time, a lady serving but I was ignored again and then eventually asked if I would like a coffee, I left straight away after whitnessing her pick up the fallen scrambled eggs from the buffet table, with her hand and throwing it back into the buffet - health and safety rules' My last night was a let down. I had not eaten and sadly dinner with a friend was cancelled. I went to ask reception for cold food that could simply to taken from a packet or box, even some bread, but was refused even after explaining my very bad day. I was clearly limping on my right foot as I had hurt it the previous day and when asked if they could call and order me a take-away(as I do not speak Italian) I was also refused and told I should just walk out of the hotel to my left, and walk for 5 mins....I left and walked feeling annoyed, hungry and disapointed with the service. I walked for 30 mins and found only bars. This hotel lacks in so many things but after all, in any hotel or restaurant, the staff are what can make a huge difference. I actually work in a 5 star hotel in Dublin and your hotel could never meet the standards I am used to working with. Your staff do not care or even try to show they care, about your customers. Very bad, will not be back.
"Ok, but not a 5 star hotel"
The hotel was located a 15 minute walk from the duomo, so the location was ok. The rooms were clean, but the facilities are less then 5 stars. Example: no coffeemaker, broken bed table lamp, no slippers. We stayed at better 5 and even 4 star hotels. So we had a pleasant stay, but don't get your expectations too high.
