Situated on a quiet street in the historic center, Hotel Ponte Sisto offers the perfect base from which to explore many of the city's most important and unforgettable sites. It is located just a stone's throw from Campo de' Fiori, Trasterevere, Piazza Farnese, Via Giulia.
"A decent four-star hotel at an excellent spot"
The entrance of Hotel Ponte Sisto is 50 meters away from the bridge over de Tiber river from which the hotel is named. So, the Trastevere quarter with its variety of restaurants is in walking distance. Although the traffic loaded three lane road alongside the river is close by, you don't hear much noise in most rooms. Hotel Ponte Sisto has the appearance of a well maintained classic Italian luxury albergo. The rooms are not very spacious, but clean, well kept, and offer all amenities you will expect in a hotel of its class. The staff at the reception desk is friendly and competent.
"Fabulous Hotel in a Rome City"
10 months ago I began communicating with Enrico and Carla about my group go 27 who would be arriving in Rome in April. From the very start I was impressed with the hotel. They were extremely thorough and professional. The rooms were ready when we arrived with most documentation handled before arrival. The hotel is a gem. Located on a small street across the river from Trastevere. The rooms were clean and lovely. The hotel garden and rooftop terrace were a pleasant surprise after a day of touring. The breakfast was full of choices. Enrico assisted us with restaurant suggestions, and we had a wonderful group dinner at Osteria La Quercia, which was my best meal in Italy. Hotel Ponte Sisto is my top hotel suggestion in Rome.
"A lovely hotel in an excellent location "
We stayed here for 5 nights recently and loved it. The rooms are comfortable, clean and an excellent marble affect bathroom and great shower. Tea/coffee in the room would be the " cherry on top " A relaxing courtyard in the centre of the hotel and a rooftop bar area only adds to this hotels ambience But we found it's location to be the main selling point. Each day we walked from the hotel to all the main tourist sights and city centre areas and each evening we crossed the bridge into trastavere to a multiple selection of excellent restaurants and bars amongst its wonderful cobbled streets. Thouroughly recommended.
"Great place, great location"
Rome is full of hidden gems and this is one, perfect location. Tucked away 30 metres from Ponte Sisto with great access to the river and all areas. Just across the Sisto was the Trastevere area which really comes to life in the evening with a fantastic selection of bars and eateries, too many to mention, all looking good, take your pick. One morning we walked along the river to the Vatican which took 20 minutes, very relaxing. The hotel was great, very clean, accommodating, well presented continental breakfast although the service was questionable, after being shown to our table we were never asked (3 consecutive mornings) whether we would like anything cooked (off the menu) or indeed a barista coffee (instant was self serve). If you do stay and want anything, ask first!
"Stunning Courtyards and Gardens"
Chose this Hotel as I had seen it on a previous visit to this part of Rome. Not disappointed as all is as it should be. Airport pick up great and the check in easy. Room is lovely looking over the courtyard, just a little on the small side. Breakfast is lovely with the cooked breakfast in particular just great, whilst the cold selections of fruits, meats, cheese and pastries are just lovely. Sat yesterday in the courtyard and we had a lovely cold drink and enjoyed the serene relaxing atmosphere. The staff from the moment we arrived have all been extremely courteous, polite, helpful and never far away.
