Situated on a quiet street in the historic center, Hotel Ponte Sisto offers the perfect base from which to explore many of the city's most important and unforgettable sites. It is located just a stone's throw from Campo de' Fiori, Trasterevere, Piazza Farnese, Via Giulia.
The hotel is very clean, it is located by the center. Just accross Trastevere, where you can find nice reastaurants and bars with live music. Some rooms are small, but it is ok if you are not going to spend your holiday in your room. I had breakfast at the hotel and it was very satisfying. It is good value for money. I would definitely recommend.
We stayed at Hotel Ponte Sisto as part of a 13 day private tour of Italy booked through Avventure Bellissime. We cannot speak more highly of the Hotel and staff. The Hotel is situated in a fantastic part of town - centrally located to all major attractions; the room was large and well appointed; the breakfast that was included in the tariff was fresh, varied, plentiful and included lots of local produce; the common areas of the Hotel were luxurious and well maintained; staff were helpful with restaurant recommendations and assisting with other queries. We were very impressed with Hotel Ponte Sisto and would highly recommend this Hotel.
"Good value and location for Rome "
This hotel is situated directly across from the Ponte Sisto pedestrian bridge giving direct access to Trastevere , in our opinion the best area or Rome to visit in the evening for dinner and drinks. The staff were all very professional, if not particularly friendly but the service was not impaired . The happy hour on the roof terrace is worth taking advantage of for the view and relatively good value for a pre dinner drink and bruschetta. The room was clean and functional and not bad size wise for Rome ..I have paid more for a shoe box before ! All in all I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Rome as a tourist, we walked to all the major attractions and nothing took more than 20 minutes, I would definitely stay here again, better just brush up on my Italiano if I want a little banter with the staff!
"Lovely Hotel in Excellent Location"
Hubby and I stayed here for 4 nights to celebrate my 50th Birthday. We emailed the hotel in advance to ask for flowers, helium balloon and wine to be in the room for our celebration (which we had to pay extra for) The wine was delivered to us on a tray with two glasses and an ice bucket after we arrived in our room, which was a nice touch. No kettle or tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but we asked at reception and was provided with a kettle and tea/coffee/milk. I think this kind of thing should be in all hotel rooms as standard! Breakfast was continental with plenty of cereals, lots of choice of fruit, cheese, ham, different breads. If you wanted cooked, you paid extra (€3 for bacon and €5 for eggs!!) I only did it once, and it was nothing special for the extortionate prices they were. We would’ve liked to have used the roof terrace to enjoy a glass of wine, but was told it wasn’t open until Monday 15th May, and that it only opened during summer. Yet, I’ve read recent reviews on Trip Advisor of people who had sat on the roof terrace(') We had a lovely room on the third floor (315) which we asked to be a quiet room. However, we could still hear noise of the traffic and people in the street, as well as the bins being emptied that were directly below our room. Better to keep the windows closed. Plenty of toiletries available in the bathroom, a lovely shower and nice big towels. The bed was comfortable too, and we had a couple of arm chairs in the room, plenty of storage space. All the main sites were easy to walk to from the hotel, the railway station being approx 30 mins walk away. Ponte Sisto Bridge was lovely to walk over and we found some nice places to eat/drink over there. We arranged this hotel through Expedia including their transfer arrangements between Hotel and Airport. DO NOT do this as there was a long wait to be picked up from the Airport, and they never turned up at all to return us to the Airport so we had to pay extra for a Taxi.
"Fantastic location "
My daughter and I had a four night stay at this lovely hotel, all staff were exceptional and the service was superb, rooms spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Hotel is situated in a lovely location close to Travestere and the Jewish ghetto, where bars and restaurants are in abundance. Easy access the ancient sites and Vatican City - would highly recommend.
