Situated on a quiet street in the historic center, Hotel Ponte Sisto offers the perfect base from which to explore many of the city's most important and unforgettable sites. It is located just a stone's throw from Campo de' Fiori, Trasterevere, Piazza Farnese, Via Giulia.
"I'd go back here."
The most that I appreciate about this hotel is the convenience of its location. 30 mins from the Vatican and colosseum. About 20 mins away from the Pantheon, Piazza, Navona. And the villa Farnisina is about 10 mins away. Trastevere area ,where there are many places to eat, is very close by. The location of the hotel is perfect. Additional to this, the staff at the facility are all friendly and helpful, most especially this young Pilipina Lady , Liz, who is extremely helpful and patient to my parents and I. Thank you. Lastly, the breakfast they serve is sufficient, good and well prepared. NOTE: there is a gelato place , a grocery and a leather store right next door. The leather store has many cool products that they sell and the staff there are friendly. If given an opportunity, I'd go back to this hotel.
"this was our fourth stop and this hotel was one of the best!"
this hotel was one of the very best on our trip! the staff was so friendly and helpful, the location was really convenient to most everything we wanted to do and see. Rooms were spacious and nicely done, very clean and well kept...the roof offered a great night time view of the surrounding area. We would definitely go back to this hotel!!
"Good but not great"
Spent three nights here for a sightseeing holiday. It's in a good location for all the sights, equidistant to Vatican, Colosseum/Forum and Piazza Navona, near the bridge over to Trastevere and nice and quite. The service was good, friendly and prompt on arrival, departure and breakfast and they were helpful at providing directions. Room was small but ok as was the bathroom; carpets a little threadbare and moth eaten at the edges, the aircon system hard to understand, bath plug system broken and no tea making facilities. There is no restaurant here so breakfast limited to fruit/cereal/bread/toast/cold meats/cheese etc. They charge extra for a cooked breakfast. We didn't use the bar until the last day and discovered that it charges €5 for a small pot of tea for one! Next time, we'll bring our own travel kettle. There is a super roof terrace on the 5th floor with nice views of St Peter's Basilica providing a tranquil place to relax after a hard day sightseeing. Overall, this is supposed to be a 4* hotel but for me, the room and general standard of facilities was more 3*. But we had a good time here nevertheless.
"very good hotel"
Nice hotel, very well located in the heart of Rome, you can easily walk to the most important museums and attractions. The rue and cartier are charming. The very well know piazza dei fiori market is easy to reach. Splendid place in automn, winter and spring. Too warm for me in summer!
Used to be a monastery, and there are still priests in residence right next door. You can see the stained glass from their chapel from the courtyard. Breakfast in the stunning courtyard every morning. Make sure to go up to the rooftop terrace, where they have happy hour every night. Pricey, but worth the amazing views. Room was very nice, bathroom was large and included a bidet. Shower/tub combo was very high to step into.
