"Very good, as before"
I stayed at the hotel for three nights, returning after past good experience. As before, everything was good - the place is very nice and comfortable if you need to stay in the area. I visited the university, a 15 minutes walk. The staff was nice and friendly, the restaurant is good. A minor unexplained issue was the lack of hot water in the last day (''') Did not bother asking as I checked out.
"Expensive but descent hotel"
Location is great, walking distance to many places especially La Ramblas. However, the rooms are really small and pictures might be a bit misleading. The service is good and the breakfast was good too. My main concern was that the rooms are really small for the price that you pay.
The staff on the front desk went over and above to help with any queries I had (restaurants, places to buy certain foods etc)... and I was lucky enough to get a free room upgrade. Would definitely recommend, and use again.
"Disappointed with condition of Hotel"
We were very disappointed with our stay at the Pulitzer. It is the 4th time we stayed there and could not believe how much it had deteriorated in three years. We were also surprised at the condition of the furniture in the lobby and in the dining room. The “leather” was cracked and ripped. Everything looked old, drab, scratched up and in need of paint. I surely would not consider this a 4 star hotel any longer. We booked directly with the hotel, thinking we would get treated to a better room than we ended up with which was room 516. The room was awkward to get around in and very small. The furniture was in need of replacement. The manager states that there are plans for renovation in the next year but I would not stay here without confirmation. The staff was pleasant. The breakfast adequate but below the quality of many other hotels we have stayed with in Europe. The location is wonderful, but location is only a small factor with a good hotel.
"Excellent location, recommended."
Ideal location to the Metro and tourist bus tours a couple of minutes walk, as well as the main shopping and eating areas. We didn't spend much time in the hotel as we did a lot of sightseeing, however the rooms were of of a good standard with a comfortable bed. The bar area was pleasant, we didn't us the restaurant and the roof terrace was not serving drinks due to it being out of season, but you could take a drink up there if you wanted to. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
