Located at Madrid's historic, cultural and commercial heart, within the emblematic triangle formed by Puerta del Sol, Calle de Alcalá and Gran Vía, and surrounded by the best restaurants, shopping and leisure areas.
Metro: Sevilla and Sol
Quatro Puerta del Sol is located at the center of Madrid-you couldn’t have asked for a more perfect location. It’s between the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (10 min walk) and Royal Palace of Madrid (15 min walk). It is 4 min walk to metro station Sol and Puerta del Sol. The staff is very helpful-they booked me a ticket for a soccer game one day before the game-what an experience-thank you.
"Nice little hotel"
Just checked out this afternoon after a lovely 3 nights here! The hotel is probably not a 4 star so don't go in expecting that. What it is, is a decent 3 star, right in the centre of Madrid, close to loads (and I mean loads!!) of restaurants, tavernas, cervezerias, shops, museums and the Royal Palace. It's perfect! It's clean, comfortable, friendly and an absolute bargain!! We would absolutely stay here again!
"Business trip to spain"
Nice little hotel right in the heart of the city. Close to shops, bars and restaurants. (And a lovely little tapas bar right next door!!) Handy for all the local attractions and close to Sol Metro and Sevilla metro. Decent eurpoean breakfast with a twist and plenty of options. Have stayed there on numerous occasions and will stay again.
"Below par facilities"
Stayed here 2 night's ago, and still recovering from a lack of sleep. Beds are hard, with unforgiving springs and seriously awful pillows that offer no support. Resulted in barely sleeping during our two night stay. The room itself is awkward - the bed is set at an odd angle with little room to negotiate around. Heating in this hotel seems to be a serious occupation too - from the moment you enter, you're blasted with 25 degree hear, which continues into the rooms. We switched ours down, but needed to open a window for a substantial amount of time to cook the room down. This wasn't ideal as we faced directly into the street, with continual noise. By far and away the worst issue though was the appalling shower - barely any pressure, and lukewarm (at best). This seriously upset out stay (on top of a lack of sleep) hence the poor rating. Okay, so location and proximity to sights/restaurant a is good, but I'm sure there's better hotels around for a similar price where issues like this wouldn't be a problem.
"Correct but soulless"
This is a standard 4-star hotel in downtown Madrid. (+) Location is as good as it gets in Madrid. You are facing the future (under construction as 2017) first Four Seasons and W Hotel in the city, so you can bet it is not in a bad location The hotel "works". There is nothing missing or bad. So if you are planning to stay in Madrid for a short holiday it fills "all the boxes" (-) So here comes the issue. Having stayed at many Madrid hotels, I can't think of such a soulless experience. The hotel and environment could be in downtown Madrid or in suburban Minneapolis. If you want something with "character" and a typical Spanish "cool" flavour, look somewhere else (e.g. Room Mate, etc); there are many other hotels in the area that go beyond this. A pity, because with some more "personal touch" it would be a great hotel. Overall it is good if you get a good fare and just want a correct place to crash at night.
