Dorsoduro, with its art colleges and university, has long been home to artists, designers, writers and educators. A particular feature of the Hotel San Sebastiano is its convenient location, near the district's 15th century San Sebastiano church and featuring masterpieces by Paolo Veronese and Tiziano Vecellio. It is also near to the Galleria dell' Accademia which holds the collective works of Venetian masterpieces from the XIV to the XVIII centuries.

"Great hotel in a great location"
We needed a short break away from the UK and have always loved this little corner of Venice: quiet and undiscovered, but only a short walk to the Accademia and the action (if you want it!), and ten minutes' walk to the transport hub at Piazzale Roma. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and were pleased with the room. It wasn't that large, but was adequate - after all, who goes to Venice to stay in their hotel room' Our room was no 35 on the second floor, and it had a great view of the canal outside and the church and campo opposite. I found the bed a little hard, but I do have a bad back and am very particular about mattresses. The buffet breakfast was very good, with a wide choice and excellent coffee. All in all, an excellent hotel away from the tourist track but not too far away from the major attractions and sights. We shall certainly be back.
"Wonderful staff and beautiful room!"
I loved everything about the visit. The front desk staff helped us find the hotel, helped us find parking, directed us to the waterbus and was in all accounts perfectly hospitable and welcoming. The room was beautiful, probably the best room I've stayed in, especially the fire place and the view over the Canal was more than we could have hoped for.
Really lovely hotel. Clean, warm and comfortable. The room and bathroom were beautiful. A little off the beaten track but still easy to find your way back to the grand canal. The receptionist was really helpful. Lovely place to stay.
"Very bad reception and bad position and view"
We reserve a hotel from online website(not tripadvisor) ang go to venezia from far country and payed full money befor going, and when we arrived this hotel our resevation was not fixed so i know it is a website problem i think , but the main problem was the bad manager of this hotel because he did not accept us and reffered me and my wife to a 3star hotel without pay back price diffnce and so our time is waste and our hotel quality was decreased(3instead of 4) i am angry but i am happy because i think however the second 3 star hotel had low quality but had a verry better view( the position of San Sebastiano Garden hotel is very bad
We stayed here for four nights at the beginning of October. The hotel is beautiful and very old ,It was our first time in Venice , the location of the hotel is fantastic right next to a canal and across from a remarkable church , you must visit it We stayed on the first floor with a garden view, the floor is a marble floor, the bed was so comfortable the bathroom was big with sink, toilet and over bath shower with bathroom products replenished every day , the whole bedroom was what you would hope for when going to Venice , Did not hear any noise from any other guests , although the hotel was busy , TV in room only had one english speaking chanel , but you're not in Venice to watch tv. The breakfast is buffet style with very polite and friendly staff serving tea or coffee , the breakfast was fantastic cold meats fresh fruit cereals, yoghurt. Then the hotplate with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage , could not fault anything .We dined inside in the breakfastroom but some people dined outside in the beautiful garden setting Although the hotel does not do evening meals there are very good places to eat nearby , the restaurant and cafe on the way to the vaporetto stop were both excellent Overall, if you want a beautiful old hotel with some small rooms some big rooms in a beautiful setting and breakfast with friendly helpful staff this is for you , if you want regimental style rooms this isn't for you
