Reopened in January 2009, Santa Teresa Hotel is the newest luxury boutique hotel in Rio de Janeiro.
Offering an ethnic and tropical decoration, the hotel is inspired by the original African and Brazilian design.
Each corner of the hotel is decorated in contemporary or primitive Brazilian style with burnt cements, black and golden slates, dark reddish tropical woods and natural banana tree fibres.
The hotel is surrounded by lush gardens of mango trees and centenary palm trees widely visited by marmosets, toucans and parrots of the Tijuca Park.
The 25m swimming pool of green slate offers a marvellous view to Rio de Janeiro and the Teresopolis mountains.
